Finally quit FTD...

As long as the customer spends 9.95 more per order than they send you, they are not 100%. Even when they send you "100%" and the 9.95 and you pay for the website and a per order fee, they are still not 100%. 100% is a misnomer.

Also remember, everything that comes out of HQ OKC is a 73% order, just like ftd's dotcon. And those don't include delivery charges either. Actually, look at a USAA catalog sometime, they discount the SRP by 15%, of COURSE they can't include a delivery charge.

One thing I see, and I don't like EITHER dotconz, is that ftd.com at least sells for higher prices, WHICH INCLUDE A DELIVERY CHARGE. Yes you only get 73% of it, but the holiday codifides are not at bargain basement competitive prices. Teleflora has the edge, kicks ftd's butt BIG TIME on selling and creating incredible demands, so why do they need to sell them too cheap? It's NOT like the public can buy them from the competition. But now florists are becoming their competition, so there goes that rationalization....

Yea that too Bloomz.

But I am referring to the fact that if you don't have a website with Teleflora you do not get a Delivery Fee at all. A post on the other board said that you could ask for one but geez...so now I have to specificly ask for a delivery charge on every order I get from the website.

Why don't the TWO of you GO AWAY???

Put my FOOT in MY MOUTH....Sorry.

I had a day/weekend without any of us getting time off and Loads of Funeral Work with TF trying to sneek in those 100% orders.

I Apoligize to all my florist friends out here...sometimes I just get so vented up I let the keyboard Rip.

It doesnt help either to correcting the WS problem.

I owe all of you some "Fruit Cake"! ....Yuck!

Blue,
tisk tisk tisk, one of the good things about this board is the openness, good discussion and we respect the other person opinion as they see it. But to tell people they are not welcome here, that is wrong unless Ryan deem fits to hank his or her membership.
OK young lady, you need a time out, inthe corner and say three, yes I said three Hail Mary....
Have a good one...
HUGS, still like you no matter what

Skimmer operation? I only advertise to places we actually deliver but If I do start to advertise nationally it makes me feel better that you don't like it :>

Well this was interesting. Got a call today from FTD. They have waived ALL fees, that's membership, directory,Qand A, etc through the end of April if I stay until then. I'm still going to quit, but I'll wait until the end of April. No reason not to. It's not costing me a dime.
Not quite sure why they care whether I stay or not, unless the coverage thing out here is becoming an issue for them. I am the only shop in my service area that delivers on Saturdays and from the amount of rose orders I get from FTD.com It looks like I'm the only one that has a good supply of roses. What ever, does'nt matter one way or the other.
This gives me 12 more weeks of stirring things up on the FTD chat board... Lol!:ssmoke

That's going to be hard to get. You have to deal directly with the consumer to do that.

My rep said that if you have a dove system, then the 9.95$ fee is also passed along. Even if you don't pay for the site.

I don't know how your set up or what the paper work on your orders state. If you do recieve the 9.95$, it comes under the del.

Not what I was told. I was told that you only get the $9.95 if you have a website. If florists got the $9.95 then there would be no problem but if they do not have a website they do not.

And also they shouldn't have to deal directly with the consumer. If they are going to take an order for less than what is reasonable then they should fork over the money NOT the consumer. Take it out of the $9.95 that IS NOT going to the Teleflora website-less florist as according to my rep and the materials sent out from Teleflora.

But another problem this has spawned is that Teleflora's FlowerClub has their prices set with no delivery either.

I am sorry but these things that are happening with this site are no mistakes. There is a purpose to it. I guess we will just have to see what it is. You don't accidently advertise AGAINST your own co-op advertisers on accident. You dont accidently not put a delivery charge on your orders.

Here is my BIG BEEF. If Teleflora came out and said:

"Hey we are not gonna take 27% off all of these orders BUT we are gonna sell them without a delivery charge to better compete with the other Order Generating sites out there. If you would like to take part in this let us know. Also for the florists that have a website with us because the find a florist will mostly be gone we will gave you the service fee of $9.95 minus out $1.75 web fee."

I would have more respect for what they are trying to do but so far they made it clear to the florists what is going on.

In a perfect world the florist would get the SRP + $10 for delivery, but that we don't liive in.

BTW I am not bashing flowerknife+us, I just had a good place to put this stuff in a post, just the very top is in response to flowerknife+us.

It' a Shame

No one is getting the money of the so called service charge they charge.

I don't care how its is spun...WERE ALL THE LOSERS!.

Doesn't it seem a little strange...

that we were having THESE VERY SAME discussion threads about FTD, maybe a year and a half ago??
It has become VERY apparent to me, that NEITHER of the "big 2" have a real florist owner, in their sights, when developing and operating these ridiculous counter productive programs, while, all the while, alienating the VERY PEOPLE, that put these people on the map!!
It has ALSO become VERY APPARENT, that NEITHER Teleflora, nor, FTD, are the least bit interested in helping YOU grow YOUR business, and that BOTH these entities, are out to KILL each other, with OUR membership money, and OUR escalating fees, OUR skillset, and OUR "just in time" capacity, I really think that it is time for us to start saying "goodbye" to both!
They don't seem to need us, and frankly, there are wayyy too many other options available to us REAL FLORISTS, that we should really need them.
IF you think outside the box, and IF you are in this biz to make it for YOU, and IF, you're up to speed on what's TRULY going on around you...ask yourself...WHY AM I FILLING ORDERS at 73% LESS expenses??..a true way of destroying your hard earned business!!!
Mike

We were very much content with how things were here with the services, that has very recently changed.

Another flower shop has closed in the Sault - at the same time one of the local shops has signed up to more wire services while the rest of us are thinking about dropping one. :boggles: It's enough to toss them all some days.
