Any one making the new margar-tini or apple-tini etc. Do you have any photos? What flowers do you use and retail price. I thought about just doing a 'flower-tini' using what ever flowers we had in stock or maybe orchids.
I think the dollar stores have acrylic stemmed glasses for a buck (might be too small?) with the colored Oasis in bowl of glass, flowers, fruit slices and straws.
Martinis and margaritas seem to be the most popular drink around here. If you make them any other idea. Fun for summertime!!

We make them all big & small.
Actually have never taken photos of any though.
Glad this came up.
Will ask the girls to make some of our alcohol related items and will post them when done. May even have a reason to do our silly mini keg again soon. Did that one as a goof and wound up getting quite a few orders last summer and again at Christmas. Sold it as a package with the floral beer mugs.

Citywide Food Festival

Our TASTE OF KILGORE will be Tuesday night and downtown businesses have been invited to set up a booth. We will actually have two booths with a lot going on. We will have a secretary with a reminder for the bosses in attendance with a display of our secretary/administrative week specials, a Mother's day special with a reminder to order, several girls in prom dresses and FLOWERS (our two biggest proms are the next two weekends) and a decorated convertible mustang with the Just Married bride and groom. Along with the standard carnation giveaway, we are also going to do several of these food-themed arrangements (GIANT margarita glasses available at wholesaler and also Michaels hobby shop) and some beer mugs and also some arrangements with fruit in them and maybe one or two more for our table. Well, we might actually expand past our two "official" table spaces, but I plan to be the TALK OF THE TOWN on Wednesday! Everyone who misses our booth will miss out on all the fun!

BTW, proceeds from this event go to one of our local charities, guests pay to enter then get free food samples from all our restaurants, free soft drinks, etc. My team will be there MANDATORY and they are all going to be wearing our embroidered "uniform" shirts which actually makes it appear that there are even more of us than really exist.

And yes, I will be paying entrance fees for my employees and they will have a chance to walk around and try all the yummy food too!

I will post pictures next week! Thanks for al the FC gang who helped come up with this plan!

Oasis or Gel crystals

Just wondering when you all make the "tini's" if you use colored Oasis, the powder, or it even looks as if they might be the polymere (sp) gel crystals in the Champagne, Beer and Appletini arrangments????

They're all just adorable!

For one of my bridal show vendors, I made a flower-tini using the 24" tall large martini glass. He loved it so much, that's the only kind of arrangement he wants on his table! I also put a floralyte in the bottom of the glass. Here's a pic:

I use oasis powder for some and real snow with food color for others and acrylic ice in colors for still others. The oasis and real snow makes for a slushy looking drink, like frozen margs and daiquiries. And the acrylic ice makes for drinks on the rocks and beer drinks.

I usually use the acrylic ice. That way, I can use different color floralytes as an added accent to match the table decor.

I'm not familiar with the acrylic Ice.
Is it like the polymere crystals?
Someone told me that the polymere doesn't allow the flowers to drink as it absorbs to much of the water.
Funny, since they use it in dirt to help with watering.

They look like this. It's not the same as the polymere, and doesn't interfere with the flower's water intake. They come in fabulous colors, and looks great when you fill a glass container with water, add the acrylic rocks, a floralyte and flowers.

Acrylic ice is colored odd shaped pieces of plastic. They do not absorb water or release water. I also usually make mine with a tray on top and add oasis foam so I do not have stemms in my martini or marg. The lomey clear 9" trays fit right in they also form a nice seal in case of delivery issues(driver or recipient)

That's true. I also use the 9" lomey tray with oasis. That way, the top can be taken home and placed on a table by the client and my glass comes back to me.

I actually sell these to customers....They love them..they buy the arrangement and the glass for gifts to friends. I also do minis in regular size glasses as opposed to the big centerpiece ones. I fell in love with them back in 1999. I was searching for ideas for my wedding and wanted to do Martini glasses but no one had the tall ones yet. I could only find the regular height ones. Now that Martinis are a very in thing they sell all the time.
