Have lots of fun. Think of those of us that can't be there because we're knee deep in funeral work.

There is a very good reason....
why I wanted both you guys there...I cannot say right now!!
We spent a good part of yesterday at the conference centre, and set up the designers rooms, and hydrated about $15,000.00 RETAIL of fresh product, in advance of greeting both our guest designers, and a "surprise" designer 2 of whom are from England, and an absolute blast in personalities!!
Then when we arrived home, at about 10:00 pm last night, we checked into the shop, and discovered that our staff has taken more funeral work than they can handle, so, we came in at 3:00 am this morning, have completed some of it, PLUS Sandie's 2 provincial foyer pieces, are loaded, and are heading to another shop on the way to pick up some more stuff, and take it downtown Toronto!!
Too bad you won't be there.......it's a REAL SHAME!!( and you BOTH COMMITTED TO COMING....BOTH OF YOU!!!!!!!!!)

Family and business come first, Mike, always. If I could have been there, I would have but the circumstances were out of my control. I feel guilty enough, don't heap more on.

To let everyone know, I had registered at last year conference.How can we predict on what can happen in one year.
I got 2 wedding for this weekend and that alone I had to cancel because I do the wedding in my shop and it would have been stupid of me to go to toronto and leave that for her to do. Plus we got a funeral among all of this.
Like last year, I arrive early and was happy to help you hydrate, build, strip, etc to help out. I am sorry your staff was bombarded with funeral work also.
I am sorry you had to be at work at 3 am to get this done and get some more product to toronto.
Next year I will have another designer in place in my shop with more experience and I may consider going.
I hope after this weekend Mikey, you will take time out at the grey cup to Relax. You are always on the go, go , go....

almost overwhelming......
way many more shops turned out than was "expected" and you could almost feel the excitement in the crowd that came, stayed, and prospered!!
The FTD CFC Committee is already working on next year's venue, and we need feedback!!
By the way...is was an honour to meet so many florists, and their families, that we've spoken to, yet never met, and it was so beautiful to see so many florists, and their children attend this wonderful conference!!

I've Been Trying All Day To Get A Chance To Put
in my $.02 worth! It took us 3 years of trying to get there, but Akiko and I are sure glad we did! Wonderful people...Great location...Exquisite food both on and off the site! (Akiko says she got the best sashimi she has eaten since I took her away from "THE REAL THING" 50 some years ago! And I watched amazed as I saw Akiko recognize the style of Japanese Floral Arangement she teaches in the work of the Surprise Designer, and her batteries were recharged and the results visible in some of the piecies I delivered today! I'm glad we signed up again for next year!:musical:

we've got some great ideas already from some of this year's attendees, that we'll be looking at for next year, and some exciting NEW additions to MAKE you want to be there, next year!!
Stay tuned....event location '07 could not be verified in time, with set prices!! Resorts and event locations are again becoming very competitive!!
