GE Owns NBC?

Let me expand my example to GE.

just because GE owns NBC universal, doesn't mean that the General Electric Light Bulb manufacturing division is involved in any of the stupid/slanderours/libelous things said by the anchors on MSNBC.

I don't think that anyone is aware of the GE / NBC connection, I think that might be the point, but I don't think the average consumer will even know about the Classmates.com legal issues anyway. (Or care)

We have to remember that "we" are in the know about this stuff, and the average Joe does whatever his internet tells him to do. We expect the same from our own email campaigns and other marketing strategies. A smaller company with little market following may suffer, but FTD is so large and well known that it can weather this easily. (How much bad press do they already get that goes unheard by the masses...)

It really boils down to FTD and its new owners are going to exploit FTD to earn them a profit.

why would this new group of owners behave any differently from the previous 3 -- or is it 4 -- owners since the 94 buyout?

I got that same e-mail from Classmates time after time. I even got one that slashed the price to half if I replied by 11-13, which I didn't.
