I recently did my quarterly update on my mercury X system and noticed something new in the florist directory. There is a new column listed as status. When I brought up my town my shop was listed as preferred. Also noticed other shops that service my town were listed as preferred also. Checking out my parents shop listing I found that their status was listed as normal. They are the only ftd shop in their town. Yet 3 preferred florists that are out of town are listed before them. Needless to say, my folks were not amused seeing that mother's day is around the corner and ftd decides to f-around with listings (that we pay for!!). My father called many and I mean many people at FTD and received possible opinions but no real answers. He finally got a hold of someone in tech. that indicated that there is a 'possible glich' in the "order life cycle program" - by distoring your listing by placing preferred florists above normal listed florists. I know this is confusing, but if you are on mercury x - check your listing in your town to see your placement and status. The real question is what makes a florist "preferred" compared to "normal"?
