FYI, employees at FTD received a memo this week notifying them that the Mercury message fees were going to increase by $1.00 in the near future.

BTW, you can set the server so that ANS messages don't print...it just gives a pop up box.
It's a simple money grab on FTD's part... there is no human intervention on their part requiring them to recoup any added expense. The burden is on the florist. While I think they are trying to force florists to provide more information which is good, I believe it's in their interest and not other florists based on order volume and consumer promises. Is there anyone except, for a few specialized system owners, who feel it is NOT going to cost you more than 50cents to track your incoming orders and in a timely(as defined by FTD) manor send a d-con? Probably not.
Yes Mark we will be sending another tech note on how to. if you read the last one 2 weeks ago it detailed how to prevent before it happens. Still would like some clarity on the messaging. Just think if the majority were on MAS Direct no need for messgaing you see and track 24/7 hopefully next year we can change that or make some headway...Time to set up some automatic rejection criteria and automated messaging to eliminate junk orders before they even show up.
Yep... being able to pre-set my acceptable criteria for incoming orders is a "kewl tool" that will eliminate having to "inspect" every incoming order to make sure it fits our "acceptable limits". Automatic rejections, and automatic messaging based on "order factors" is another tool setting MAS at the top.Yes Mark we will be sending another tech note on how to. if you read the last one 2 weeks ago it detailed how to prevent before it happens. That's why I posted this message Doug - to get the word out. We dropped FTD last December.
Further clarification of memo today said all messages would be $2.00. If you send a delivery confirmation back on an order, you will receive a credit of .50. Whoop, whoop
Time for fellow florists to stand up and tell FTD who's running their businesses!!
Yep... that will be the initial outcome...Wanna bet it's gonna make a lot of FTD florists stop taking phone-ins at all?
I understand all phone orders will have the $2 reporting fee per order.
