Well that's odd, I found it yesterday but Gracey's profile doesn't seem to have the "album" option on the right-side column now...

Ok thank goodness I'm NOT a computer idiot. ;) I looked and looked and couldn't find it. It's not there... whew!!!:SUI:

Whew! I couldn't find it either!

Gracie, the faux flowers are all that we use for cemetery work (except for a couple of customers who want fresh). We have several shops in our area who do only faux flower arrangements, specializing in cemetery pieces. Our designs sell because they are simply better designs, one-of-a-kind. You have to be so much better than such places as Wal-Mart that they are not your competition.

Take every design course, seminar, class that you can find. Even in this time of high gas prices, 200 miles is not too far to travel for such an event. Learn, learn, learn!

Just where in Tennessee is Hollow Rock? If it's close to the NC line, and above Asheville, you are close enough to attend our SC Florist Association in Greenville, SC, in July. We're having some great events, and I'd be happy to supply you with details.

you don't sound like a snob at all.
we are Teleflora, but we don't hang up posters. take a look at my pics of the shop and of my designs, you can find them in the gallery.
I think we created a really nice shop, and nothing in it remotely resembles wal mart.
again that's the "feel" we want to convey. and again some shops don't do all that stuff but still send out wonderful design.

For the record, we do carry faux but it is fantastic faux. you can see it in my pics. Our faux is so nice that garden club ladies have come in and been fooled by it, thought it was the real thing!

After reading through this thread, I have to add in a bit here. First of all, How close is your area of Tennessee to the Maryville and Alcoa areas? I am working with a great friend of mine there. Connie knows me from South Carolina as well. The owner of the shops I am working with and myself are both AIFD members and will offer you any help or guidelines you need.

Also, create for yourself a strong shop signature and identity. As far as classes go, I think the best one for you would be the classes offered by Frankie Shelton. Visit www.aifd.org and look under the education tab at education partners for her school.
