When your company prints ad slicks, postcards, statement stuffers and selection guides, please be sure to let us all know where they've been printed.

Well I can tell you it will be given to workers in North America. Don't you feel workers in North America deserve a job? I'm surprised TF hasn't gone to Korea to get their statements done, since they don't do them inhouse anyway. (Oh I bet you didn't know that!)Thank you very much! And when you invest as much as I have in the floral industry in the last couple of years, you can lecture me.

Nice to know you love Teleflora and all they stand for. Go work for them and see what they are all about.

Oh and btw: my company has available post cards for direct marketing.

Peter,

I've been a professional florist for nearly 30 years and a shop owner for almost 20 and do not take kindly to your condescending charges of 'brainwashed' ignorance. Despite your assertions - and constant beratement of all things Teleflora (except that their pictures are 'nice') there are those of us that who feel membership is beneficial to our business.

You've made your point(s) ad nauseum. To the point of over-kill IMHO.

In life there is a balance. Do I agree with every decision by every company with which I do business? No. Do I agree with every decision my spouse makes? No. Do I agree with anyone 100% of the time? H*ll No.

No one 'deserves' a job - they 'earn a job' by doing a GOOD job. If they don't - then they don't have a job. If the job changes, then they must adapt (as must we, too) or they (and we) won't have jobs, either.

I too was in the florist retail end of things for almost 30 years and I do understand where you are coming from on this. I remember when Wire services used to be actually something good, opposed to what the Big 2 are doing now days to Florists.

HAHAHAH! I havn't even began to start, I've been tame.

If I don't agree with something a company does, I either quit them or buy them out, or take them out.

I can't think of anyone that gained success and/or popularity (personally or in business) by being a continual 'tattler' or 'nay-sayer.'

What did it do for Linda Tripp?

IMHO, there is absolutely nothing wrong with an "occasional" rant, rave or down-right fit. Sniping, especially the constant type, is downright annoying especially when it comes from a 'rival' and not a customer. We customers are perfectly capable of thinking for ourselves...

Especially now that our brains are freshly washed
:tongue

oh my, this forum is starting to look like floristboard.com

now let's all take a deep breath.....

HAHAHAH! :) I've been calm and relaxed. :) I guess I'm not allowed to have an opinion. It just sickens me to see what's going on, and has went on and a lot of you don't know what goes on in the background.

Peter, you're more than welcome to your opinions ... it's just that often to seem to ... :hammer: ... florists with them.

I think there's a difference between making a point and ramming it in every available orifice .... repeatedly.

I think we all know where you stand :)

Geez, I got the CD rom last week of images and was thinking it's a pretty nice darn selection guide. Which is going to be a great selling tool for me. In actuality, one of the best and most important tools my membership provides me.

You know, it even has copies of the images both with and without backgrounds. Good thinking on their part.

Hope it doesn't load up like the Dove 7.0 version!

I'll wait and see..hummmm you got it already and your not interfaced to your MAS? Dang buddy I'm shocked.

Mine got here yesterday , haven't had time to peruse it yet, so can't pass judgement on it, other than the expense and that call has already gone in.

I've had mine for a few days, and I have to say it's the best selection guide I've ever been cursed with pricing. I like the new binder for the display edition - quite nice. It remains to be seen how well the workbook will hokd up, only time will tell.

The big plus is the CD with images on display in an environment setting and on a white background. They are already sized for thumbnail and large display on your website. This is huge, too - the entire selection guide exports to an Excel file. Absolutely perfect for people using database driven dynamic websites like mine. It is SOOOO easy to add the new items with descriptions, sizes, the works. Kudos to the TF staff who put this together - very user friendly.

I still havent figure out on how to change the price of selected flowers to what I am paying. Some are to low for me and I need to do this. I called telefloraHQ in Canada and she responded that a file at the begining when I install was going to give me direction on how to do that and it didnt happen. Also I should be able to change the exchange rate monthly if I need to instead of re-installing it when I need to change it.

I had the chance to see the new guide yesterday, and I believe the letter enclosed suggested the exchange rate to be set to a figure to convert it to Canadian pricing.

Pricing is $448.60 for Canadian shops, Automatically 3 months payments or 6 months if it's requested by a member.

Nice designs, cost is too high for the book but that's not for me to decide. Printed in China, should help keep the State of California employed.

you know....

this is ONE TIME where I HAVE TO say you get what you pay for, and the new TF selection guide is pretty impressive!!
At FORTY BUCKS a month, for a selection guide, I would hope this becomes a MAXIMUM PLATEAU, but, DEFINITELY worth the price...I've blown that much on a fancy dinner and evening!!
I'm NOT Teleflora, but, they DID a great job.
Too bad that NONE of the production stayed on THIS continent, but, the quality speaks VOLUMES!!
Well done Teleflora!!...well done.
Mike:cool:

Mine came today and I have very mixed feelings about it.
I hate the cover. I think the plexi binder looks really cheesy. Most of the arrangements I like ok except for the sympathy stuff and I think that really sucks. I don't know who the designers were for the sympathy section but I can tell you that the high school flower class could have done a better job. But what gives with the pricing in this book? I know we can use our own pricing but good grief, the prices are all over the place. From crazy high to hit the reject button low. There is one fruit basket in there that I could not possibly do for under $100 and I think it's priced at $50.
And come on, a doz roses in a PLASTIC vase for $75?

Hmmm, even so, I still prefer it over the FTD book.
