I have a "killer" Maltese. She's 4 months old and weighs a whopping 2 pounds. The smallest dog I've ever owned.
I bought her when she had kennel cough and pre-pneumonia, I returned her and then re-bought her when she got better.
She likes to bite toes, so she has me and my wife dancing all over the house evrey morning. :)

:( That's mean, I love my 'baby' and would be very much put out if someone carted her off. I liked my dog when I had one but cats are a whole different type of love.

DOGS ROCK...but

I've got a 3.5 year old Rotweiller I'd just as soon part company with...

FREE to a good home of course...

He IS a great dog, I'm just not home enuf to give him the attention he deserves...

George....that is a very cute wee dog....is the pic life size? ;)

Animals make us better people I think.

She's about that size, a little longer but just about the same height. She looks like a stuffed animal.

Does anyone......

take their dog to work with them at the flower shop?

Since we live here Woodstock (my sheltie) is here everyday and he knows his boundaries. He hates every customer - he came like that. He was never socialized and I did not know that until after the fact. I got him when he was 6 months old and he was left over from a litter that didn't sell. The owner would not let her kids play with him or name him and when he was 5 months old she shipped him over to her friends house to try and sell with her friends litter. It was love at first site, we bonded instantly. It was definitely a rescue. This woman had 45 cats roaming her house/farm/property. Poor Woodstock!:(

We have three baby gates attached to the wall in different places to block him when need be. He hangs out in the office mostly with me, but occasionally when I can't find him he's in the bedroom on the bed just chillin'.

Every once in a great while he sneaks past us all and goes to the end where he can peek around the corner to the front of the cooler and if a customer is standing in front of the cooler he barks and scares them to death. I keep a much more attentive eye on him since one lady told me she had a heart condition.

L.B.F. I took Pepper to the store to show her to the staff. They wanted to see her. Pepper barked at all of them as soon as I took her through the door.

One night I took her in and she ran up to the window and barked at the people walking past the window. I think Aussies and Shelties are very protective of their "flocks".

Pepper looks like a Sheltie.

Well now..

I'm glad I started this Tread....

When we had to put our Lovely Topaz(cat) down on Friday 01-23-04 due to 17 years of age and internal organ shut down....It broke our HEARTS. The hardest part was being in the room while I had to do this. The lovely char and myself cried our A S S off.

No the pic I provided was not Topaz but I will post a pic of her when I can get the size of the photo down like flowerchat is telling me when I go to attach it.

A Fourm? Hummmm....Florist Pets and Stress Relief.

Elmo and George provide great stress relief...and they are family members. When I lost a pet, my heart broke...so Blue, we understand completely. *hug*

I'm a sentimental mush about my pets, I bawled like a baby when I lost my dog (Herb) and my Russian Blue (Duchess).

You have my deepest sympathies, I still miss my buds.

And every time, I say...no more dam* it...that's when more find me. "Strays R Us". I'm a firm believer in animal care...if you don't care for animals, you don't really care about humanity.

I did not grow up in an animal loving family so when I discovered on my own how absolutely wonderful it is to have an animal I just can't imagine not having one. For me it's dogs but that is insignificant. Everyone has their favorite pet types, but I truly do not understand how any human being cannot love animals.

I know not everyone can have one and it can be cruel to leave certain type dogs alone ALL day if they can't handle it.

Once a month the Motorcycle Ministry we are in goes to a senior living facility and we have a Bible study with them and we take one of the couple's 13 yr. old Golden Retriever "Cuddles". The old people absolutely can't get enough of "Cuddles". They don't want her to leave. I've seen that on TV also and it's true - animals can do more for people sometimes than people can do for people.

I lost 2 dogs within 1 week of each other.
It is really tough.
However, the joy they bring day in and day out for the 10 to 15 years that they live easily outweights the sadness of their passing.

Animals are honest in their feelings. If they're ticked they let you know and vice versa...my yellow lab Sophia used to have happy as* syndrome. ;) She shook that booty soooo well.
