Get out and vote!

been debating a message for the sign today: didn't vote today? Don't complain tomorrow! or Vote today! or don't complain tomorrow!

what do ya think?

Ours out there says Vote For Flowers - and has gotten a bunch of cute comments.

I changed my Name Game sign to say "free rose for voters" and it's brought a stream of people and conversation. One older lady said that if her candidate wins, she is drying the rose and saving it in her bible. I was touched.

I was excited to vote, as I always am, and thrilled to be a part of history, either way it goes.

Trying to miss the before-work-crowd, I went to the polls at 10:20 this a.m. I finished standing in line and then voted TWO HOURS AND FORTY-FIVE MINUTES later!!!!!!!!! That's the last time I'm going to believe the Today Show when they tell the best times of the day to vote.

When I took my mom to her voting place at about 2:30, she could have walked right in. No waiting at all. Because she is handicapped, the poll keepers actually brought the voting equipment to her in the car.

I wish I'd thought of giving something away to voters! Next time, for sure!

I voted at 3pm and got right in and out, even had to fill out a paper because they had me on the inactive voters list..Not sure why I vote every election...

I voted two weeks ago.

But, my take on making sure the whole country votes is this:

I do not think people should vote just to be voting. They need to check and recheck facts about the persons they are voting for. It's too bad there is not some kind of test to keep people from voting that have no clue about who is running for the different offices.

I know I will get a red dot for stating this....but, I so firmly believe that voters should be informed on every single issue they vote for or against.

I agree, Carol!! I always read all the info on each measure, consult some websites if I'm still confused. If I don't know definitively how to vote, I skip the item. We had 3 measures this time, and I was only sure one one, so the other two were left blank.

I hope you didn't get any red dots.

I agree Carol. An educated vote has always been something I strive for. Alana (who supported McCain, by the way) also gets all the information so she can vote intelligently.

My argument about people who don't vote is generally with the ones who say, "my vote won't make a difference". That drives me crazy and is likely one thing that ticks me off the most. Of course it makes a difference.

I just saw Alana's status update on Facebook. "Alana is happy about the outcome and apologises to all her American friends for underestimating them". That's my girl.

Actually our votes don't make all that much difference...

Someone can lose the popular vote but win the electoral votes...This is necessary because of the ability for people to make uninformed votes...

The electoral votes mean nothing from our votes and are the votes that matter...but it is like everything else we have going on in our country a manner of checks and balances...it works for the most part and it does matter in a case like we had this election, it mattered in our earts and pride...more people came out and voted on this election than ever....its got to mean something, somewhere even if it is just in our spirit...

Without the citizens vote there is no election... electoral college or not. Having been involved in recounts and watching recounts I have witnessed how much votes count.
