BOSS, as far as I know, FTD is using the QA dollars to "secret shop" florists across the continent, especially those with complaints.
Yep, they are Frank...usually UNannounced....thats how they moved that boy (?) in GA over to the other guys...:boggles:

Technology, yes, Daisy... well, I'm leaning towards Advantage to tell the truth especially after the last visit we got from Richard. Wasn't impressed with the attitude, the commentary, the demands or the quote. We're still considering our options so nothing is chiseled in stone but service and tech issues will likely be the determining issue since the prices are comparable.

Advantage does the exchange rate automatically for you

Another reason to get a florist & multi-country savvy computer system.. when the orders come over the merc. to a canadian florist FTD Advantage does the conversion based on YOUR specified rate.. and same thing when you send an order to the US it converts back over.. no guessing.. and then of course the costing program is so slick...
When we send to Canada we always send in US dollars at our local rate.. knowing about the tax issue in Canada.. we always inform our customers that although there is a large exchange rate differencial it is more than made up in their taxes and if they want something similar to ours they need to send just as much money.. Canada can't do it cheaper.. they too have to buy flowers, and sometimes from farthur away than us.. so there is the freight issue.

Did they tell you

I agree with Ryan,
Daisy does it for me and she never complains on Math problem.
However, she will complain on low receiving orders and she tells me so.

One night if you and Ryan aren't busy, I'd like to chat about the differences between Daisy and Advantage (not here, I'd like to be able to ask questions real time).

I'm a medieval junkie but I'm a book junkie first. Grew up reading SciFi and Fantasy so for me, these games are like visual books. I like the look of WCIII but I'm not a fan of guided games so much. My main addictions right now are Diablo2 (I have a level 90 character that rocks'n'rolls) and Age of Mythology.
There are no games on the shop pc - it's safest that way. Don't want any temp staff to think that I'm in the office playing Duke Nukem when I'm really here laughing with you guys. :) At the risk of turning this into a pc game forum, I'll switch back to the regularly schedule conversation now.

We have had this problem in the past. An order I sent out last year for $85 plus delivery, so the filling florist recieved $92.50. What was delivered was a stock vase with crushed styro for filler, 6 carns some stock and some leather. My customer came in with a picture of this arrangement. I called the filling shop and their answer was "It was in a $40 crystal vase" Of course I asked them where they got the idea that the customer wanted to spend $40 on the vase and they told me that it was their standard procedure. My next question was how they took a stock vase and turned it into crystal, and I told them that I had a picture of the arrangement. They hung up on me. I sent a price change over the system for $40. They never said another word about it.
I am sure that the percentage of customers that get scammed like this is huge but they don't say anything. That is probably the biggest challenge that the floral industry is facing today.

.....and that is why it is so important to be specfic about expectations when sending a wireout order. After too many experiences of orders being filled by florists "assuming" things I decided to be as specific as possible> When I send vased flowers I ALWAYS add in an inexpensive clear glass vase. For fresh cuts in a dish garden I ALWAYS add with a few inexpensive fresh cuts added for a splash of color. You can't be too descriptive in my book.

I'm very confused. We take delivery off first, then 20% of the remaining for labor.....rest is for flowers.

On the $81 wire-in, $7 delivery charge, $14.80 for labor, $59.20 in flowers and greens. That's how we do it.
