Got a call today wanting to place a TF order:
"Hello, my name is "so&so" from Just Flowers & I'd like to place a TF order...We need a dozen white roses to go to Lorton this afternoon. We have $50.00...."
I stopped her right there and said, "I'm sorry, we won't be able to fill that order for you."
She said, "May I ask why?"
I told her is was 5:00 p.m., she didn't have enough monies, and I don't except orders from Just Flowers (which is the REAL reason).
She started to give me guff, so I said, "Have a nice day" and hung up.

About 20 minutes later, I get a call from a cell phone. The woman said she had a customer service complaint about one of my staff. (It was the woman from Just Flowers.) She said she had just spoken to a woman here and that she thought she was rude and I needed to know about it. I asked her if she was calling from Just Flowers, and she said no. I said I recognized her voice and her cell # had the same area code as the original call. I asked her if it was worth going outside and making a cell call just to give me a piece of her mind? With that, she hung up on me!

The nerve! I have every right to choose who I will accept an order from!!!

Just couldn't believe she had to call me back. Besides, I just happened to be on the only person left at the shop, so I was the only one to have taken the call in the first place.

Thanks for letting me vent, but it's quite comical also!

Every time I think I've heard it all, along comes another florist story. You are priceless, Christi.
 
Does this remind anyone of Macon Ga?? What was his name?? Ruth,Bruce?? some name where you could not tell if it was a guy or a gal.. and he used to call saying he was from Teleflora Hdqtrs and we were going to be kicked out if we ever refused an order again..
Some of the big guys must be so desperate that intimidation seems to be the only method to their small minds.
Had one last week where they knew I would not accept it as a wire order so they said it was a florist direct order on a CC if I would not direct bill (yeah like that is going to happen) not enough money but their flower shop will make up the difference..??.. on the card..well the second card was an apology for the late delivery./// busted!!!! I stopped her right there and politely said we do not accept their orders. so I guess this delivery was going to be even later!

Tracy Wells from Love'n Blooms. He earned the distinction of a national BBB alert.

Christi - are you sure JustFlowers was trying to send TF? They were kicked out of TF for skimming back in 2005. BTW, I don't see any white roses priced at $50 on their site. A selection priced at $52.99 is for a PF-style box with vase.

Has TF let these guys back in?

That's what I thought?! So, since you said that, it makes me wonder if she was trying to pull a fast one, since she was calling so late in the day. But, if I did try and take it, it would have bounced me off of the system letting me know they weren't TF, if that's the case. Sounds as if it was a scam, now, especially since the price didn't match. Hmmmm........I just tried the phone number back off my caller ID, it's JustFlowers recording. Maybe I should call the woman's cell#, too? LOL

Side note: What is the Subscription (Gold or Silver) to Retail Florists about? Does anyone know that could expound? I clicked on the link and it just gives the prices for subscribing. Search the threads for the info, but didn't find the correct posts with that in mind.

Well, I just got off the phone with TF and they said that currently they have NOT been reinstated. Maybe I should call this woman's cell phone and ask why she was trying to send a TF order?.....
 
I've been in this industry for years, but only recently found this site. I have one too. I was on Superpages.com looking at all the OG listed for my town. I went to the "rate this business" part of it and posted on several of them that they were not a Florist and only charge customers to call a real Florist to deliver the flowers. Some time later a woman called our shop and asked to speak to the owner. My sister told her she was the owner. The lady her that she "better watch her f#@*%$# s*#@." That she was going to lose her ^&*% shirt and her **$#@ house and then hung up on her. The funny thing is my sister had no idea what she was refering to. Cowards.

JustFlowers called us a few moments ago to send a TF order. He also said he could send it on Bloomlink. I love refusing them on Wednesdays and Saturdays because all the other shops close at noon.LOL
 
Super Pages

Hurrah for you Keever's Mom. I found the Superpages.com stuff for the tiny little towns we serve. It took an hour but I rated everyone of them. Sadly, though, many of them pay enough money that they don't have a rating box for them. Still I nailed a good twenty or so of them. I certainly felt it was a good use of time between 3-4 am this morning....since I couldn't sleep anyhow.

Hey Texas..thanks for the idea..I am gradually going thru the FC members and making compliments...I think every little bit helps!And count on this Tex...I will get back my title of Balloon Champ...for a newbie, you are threading on thin ice..I was holding my own against KCick until you came along..personally I think you paid a 6th grader to take on my score....lol....I will get my revenge!!!!! lol

I hadn't heard it was for skimming.

We don't take them either as there are funds witheld from every order I check - tho they do disclose the amount witheld at the final minute in the checkout process.

Talk about PRODUCT plus $ERVICE with a CHUMP CHANGE BUDGET from a known ORDER GATHERER. Far bee it from mee to suggest that I SMELL CURTAILMENT at their end. At 5:00 PM, our retail price would've been $75.00 for 12 White Roses arranged in a vase with BB, plus our $24.95 SPECIAL MESSENGER DELIVERY $ERVICE CHARGE. At $100 in our REAL 100% DOLLARS versus their $50 in ws wampum, thus netting you $35.00, plus their expectation of YOUR FREE DELIVERY, life on from u planet BIZZARO is very very strange. The topper is HER BIG LIE and an obvious attempt to intimidate you!

Isn't it amazing that, when US WEE BEES communicate to other human beings (shoppers) DA FACTS, while giving them answers THEY DON'T WANT TO HEAR, they then have the audacity to CALL US RUDE!

RUDE seems to have become one of the most abused words in the dictionary, as of late, by some folks who are looking for SOMETHING FOR CHUMP CHANGE, or NADA.
