So, Ryan, Tf is now charging me $15.00 to CHANGE my card ads, is charging me a low sending fee of $19.95, has stubbornly REFUSED to shut down my TF website, are CONTINUING to charge me for hosting and development costs, when I CLEARLY requested it be shut down over TWO months ago, and is NOW increasing MEMBERSHIP RATES in December??
I Don't think so...the line has been crossed, and this relationship has been breached, and I've lost faith in the direction TF is taking it's members, and it's business model>
TF is forcing us to make decisions....I've made mine...

Mikey,

If that's what they are doing, more power to you.

I would as well.

No excuse for treating members like that.

I have seen no notice of raising prices, is this a given from the Powers that be? Even still, they are cheaper than FTD at this point for me and I do receive more Teleflora orders than FTD consistently for past 4 months when it has been very, I mean
V E R Y slow here. (except for 800 flowers or .com Merc has been less productive)

just had visit

Just had a visit from my Teleflora rep, no mention of rate hike coming, I don't pay any ones reciprocating fees , and will no longer be receiving the monthly magazine. Worked around my listings and saved me some coin . no problem with the bird here.

We've had no mention of a dues rate increase, nor have we had trouble changing listings, etc.

I do know the Dove fees are going up a bit. Not too happy, as I've made clear to my rep.

Don't have the dove so not a problem with us.

I have not heard anything about a membership increase either. I don't pay a low send fee or a reciprocity fee. I'm not happy about the dove fees going up $10 but you know they have to pay for all those "free computers" some how. (I'm being sarcastic about that) I have to say though that the TF keepsakes continue to outsell FTD by a huge margin.

Jim

Funny you'd mention the computers, Jim. I asked my rep straight-up if the increase was to pay for the computers - she said no. Not related. That's the story, whatever it's worth.

I've cancelled twice

I wrote a cancellation letter and sent it August 1st. My rep didn't get back with me until the middle of September after I had left 6 messages with him. They had charged me with September's rate and some other erroneous charges. He says he'll take care of it. so playing it safe, I wrote another letter that they received October 1st. I don't know how it takes a letter that long to get from Texas to Oklahoma--must have used the Pony express; no that would have been faster. My rep called me last monday--20 days later--and informed me that I had missed the deadline and that I would have to pay through December because the listings had already been printed. He didn't recall talking to me in September and asked me to forgive him for not remembering because he has over 600 customers. He did tell me that there was going to be a rate hike and that he could give me a better price if I stayed on with TF.
It seems to me that these guys will say and do anything to keep you aboard. There is no consistancy in their pricing and who knows if they are really going to raise prices or not.
After analyzing my sales, local cusomers and business plan, I figured out that my shop really does not need any wire services. For me it is more of a headache dealing with the OGs and the nonexistant services reps and I get more clients through event vendors and the locals. I've quit them for now (except floral source) and if I feel I need them in the future, I'm sure they'll be there eager for my money.
You really are the only one who truly knows your business, so this wire service may not be working for you.
Good luck

We kicked 'em to the curb, too

We were told the same thing when we cancelled... we have to stay until December because of the directory. So... they also tell us that since we cancelled, we cannot send orders, however they will send us orders through December. Say what???? I have to pay, but I can't use your services????

We have learned to do EVERYTHING by e-mail with return receipt that they read the e-mail.

We are through with FTD and TF!!!! Yahoo!!!!!

This thread is good to read because I waver sometimes, I want the incoming orders. But I don't want all the ::BS

These last 2 posts give me the gitters. We are also dropping TF, resisted their tempting offers and were told verbally that we will be out Nov. 1. We haven't received anything in writing. Please help us with how we can contact to make sure that we are out Nov. I. Do we contact the sales rep? Or just dial the 800 number and hope that someone can HELP US.

Thanks, Mike

Mike,

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will answer, but from what I've learned here, you have to do everything in writing, receipt requested.

Beth is right. Mail it in return receipt requested. Also call your rep and get it in writing and go ahead and bug the service department. At least they will have a record that you contacted them on the phone. I've made the mistake of taking my reps word for things that can latter not be changed and paid a lot of money because I didn't knowthe rules.

Thanks Beth, we did the correct process of getting out, talked to a couple people, the last being our rep's boss. He tried to dissuade us with big incentives, I said no thanks and was told that we would be out NOV 1. However, that's as much info as we were given. Now I am wondering if this is really going to happen Nov. 1 and need to make sure that it does. Especially since our primary reasons are to try to cut expenses. We neither receive nor send enough orders to make continuation with TF a viable alternative. I don't want to choke on having to send a couple more monthly payments. YIKES. No LOL, here.

Keep logs of times and dates and people's names, letters, signed certified receipts, and the phone number of your state's attorney general's office. I had to do these things and when I kept getting statements and threats, I made a call and started recited all dates, times, people's names, letter, signatures.....gave them a little story that ended with the phone number for the attorney general's office telling them that this would be the number they would need to call if they sent me one more statement or threat because that is where my consumer complaint would be!

Thanks Inferno. In a post a couple of months ago along similar lines, I made a comment about hoping that I won't need a helmet to get out of TF. Looks like I may need to get fitted... Hopefully, I can find one that follows the contours of my already dented head.
