I've noticed that there are some very unique user names on this board. If yours is one of the more cryptic - let us know why you picked it.

I'll go first. Hanggliding has been a hobby for many years - I have a sports pilots license and try to get "hang time" as often as possible (never enough).

I, too, find reasons for user names fascinating. It might be fun to have more of a bio for everyone here.

Another thought of mine: I really like to know your real name also. It seems to me that you have nothing to lose by posting your real names so you get some increased traffic from being out there.

Started out as Rhonda - password got messed up so ended up as Rhonda at work :boggles:

Infinite has been my online handle since 1994. I've used a couple others before and after, but this is the one I use the most. I don't remember exactly why I started using it, but it reminds me of the infinite nature of our God and consequently of aspects of His creation. Nothing we do has only a short-term impact, and we all have to face eternal consequences.

Rock (but only on the florist boards - since 1998) because I'm from that Rock out in the Atlantic! (see Avatar)

or it could be because I have rocks in my head being in this business, who knows!

or it could be because .....

I've never been really great at cloaking my identity (I may forget who I'm supposed to be ;) ) so Victoria and it's many derivitives is who I am. Like Doug, my parents gifted me with the name. And like Carol, I would prefer to use people's given names.

How did I get my FlowerChat name?....Let's see...

I was named after a very special lady-my Mom. Dad used to have a secretary also named Twila. I used to think that I was pretty "hot stuff" when I would call him at work and say "Twila, this is Twila" Just recently found out that it is an Indian name meaning "Morning Star."

I like knowing everyone's real names too. I kind of like to know my friends names. Good idea for a thread.

My real name was BloominDidjut but I just shortened it to bloomz so y'all could spell it.

You may think Carrieann is my REAL name... well it is, kinda....

When my mom was pregnant with me my Dad really wanted to name me Carrieann, mom said no, how about Carrie as a first name and Ann as a middle name. They agreed (even though Dad still really wanted Carrieann)

So, my Mom planned on surprising my Dad when I was born by naming me Carrieann, However, she was so drugged she forgot!! and I was named
Carrie Ann

My Dad's parents ALWAYS called me Carrieann. I HATED it, until I grew up, and realized how special that name was. My Grandfather passed away not too long ago. I have been using the name more and more. Kinda like a tribute to him. Have even thought about changing it, but don't know how.

Betcha never thought you would ever get such a story from a username like Carrieann!!

Except for me...I'm still in the Federal Witness Protection Program and am not allowed to share...

As to the name I use... BOSS.... Nuf Said ;)

But really it's a shortened version of an old email address that started out as BOSSFLORAL@... just got shortened by other posters over the years and stuck...

I have a similar story for my first and middle names. My Dad's name is Ray, my maternal grandfather was named Earl.

My parents couldn't agree on Erlene or Raylene. A coin toss settled it, and I ended up with Erlene Rae.

My paternal grandmother wanted it spelled Earlene but my parents didn't. My grandmother refused to accept that and every card or letter she wrote was addressed to Earlene Rae....LOL :)

I hated my name growing up but as I got older I was grateful for it.

Tracypieface came from a wine-enhanced night playing "Lock", a really cool board/card game w/my hubby's uncle. I like to rhyme names for my friends, pets, etc etc - Scrumpy my bird is Scrumpy-Lumps, Willie my other bird is Willie-Vinilli, my best friend is "Dana Dana Bo Bana", hubby is "Mikey-Pie". Anyhoo, I had a few glasses of wine & let slip "Mikeypie" in front of his uber-macho uncle, who gave him a pretty good ribbing by calling him "Mikeypieface" for the rest of our visit. So Mikeypieface started calling me Tracypieface, and it stuck. And that is the legend of the Piefaces. And the irony is that I don't even like pie so much, and definitely not pi (for Joe :) )

I'm thinking it's time to change my name, to my real name - especially if I start blogging from Flowerchat, and using the photo gallery for reference to brides. I don't mind the quizzical looks, but telling the story over and over will get very old.

well,

my nickname is really stupid. I wanted it for my password and some how it ended up being my name. The name inka is after a dead cat................ maybe some day I will change it to my real name: Kristine, with a K not a C! :)

Connie, real name, sweet and simple. Tho' some would argue the "sweet." Being named what some would consider a nickname, I have only had one nickname, Boo, given me by my campers many years ago. Oh! I do have an aunt who has always called me Constance.
