How did you get your Flower Chat user name?

The Ivygreen is my flower shop name and my name is Melissa. I didn't choose my shop name but I love it and it fits me. Ivy, and vining plants are some of my favorite things and I have it in and around my home. I even have those corel plates with ivy on them, and have since before I bought the shop. Now people who come to my home think I've taken 'branding' a little too far! I get lots of callers who refer to me as "hey Ivygreen" and yesterday when I called the bank, she said Hello Ms. Green how can I help you?

As my children started getting older I noticed that I was no longer Sophie, but instead I was "Abbie's Mom" Hunter's Mom and Keever's Mom. My children get their names from my great Aunt that raised and loved me. She was a wonderful lady who taught me many things and to love our Lord. Her full name was Abbie Hunter Keever.
Sophie

Except for me...I'm still in the Federal Witness Protection Program and am not allowed to share...

As to the name I use... BOSS.... Nuf Said ;)

But really it's a shortened version of an old email address that started out as BOSSFLORAL@... just got shortened by other posters over the years and stuck...

OK...enough of the "espionage"......I though I "remembered" you as Mark Smith...somewhere, not far back!!
So, who are the Feds "protecting" from you??:grovel:

Connie, real name, sweet and simple. Tho' some would argue the "sweet." Being named what some would consider a nickname, I have only had one nickname, Boo, given me by my campers many years ago. Oh! I do have an aunt who has always called me Constance.

Hardly likely.......

How did I get my FlowerChat name?....Let's see...

I was named after a very special lady-my Mom. Dad used to have a secretary also named Twila.

That's their story...but the question remains...

...were you named after your Mom....

...or after the secretary???????

:poke::poke::poke:
(just kiddin' Twy)

Toto?

Well how TOTO got his handle is a heck-UV-a-long story but here's the quick version.

Back in the GOLDEN OLDIE DAYS of FTDA when it was a member owned and operated co-op, and when John A Borden first came aboard as the new Executive Vice President in the Fall of 1988, I decided to get involved since, I HAD ISSUES.

Seemed TOO MEE that, some of the decisions which our elected board members were making (or not making) were not always in the best interests of WEE MEMBER FLORISTS, but rather, some other 800 company.

After a time, I began to refer to HQ as OZ, Borden as THE WIZARD, The BLACK HATS as the EVIL FLYING MONKEYS, Cathy as DOROTHY, The SCARECROW having no brain, The Tinman having no heart, and the Lion having no courage, will remain anonymous at this time, along with the Wicked Witch of the West.

Of course, the WEE MEMBERS were the MUNCHKINS.

As to TOTO? When, just like in the story, he was the little BARKING DOG who always warned Dorothy of IMPENDING DANGER, especially from all of those EVIL FLYING MONKEYS. lol

In fact, they all seem TOO BEE, still flying around! :wallhead:

I've been using PhillyPhlorist since the FTD Board days.

I'm also known in various camping forums by my old AOL screen name: PennSt8Man. Penn State Grad of 91.

I WAS thinking of changing my handle to MacMan, but while I love Macs, I am no computer guru...actually, they frustrate me to no end. BUT, they make life a bit easier, are a necessity in today's age and - dang... is the iPhone a wonderful piece of technology. If I have to deal with computers, it might as well be ones with the fewest issues. Macs are them.

Real Name is Herb Rothe 3rd.
4th Gener. family shop owner.

Our shop turns 100 this Saturday. Having a BIG party/open house Friday and Saturday 5 to 8:30pm ... all invited for those who care to trek to Philly.

What's in a name??????

:newbieLike in my intro not too long ago, I'm a newbie to chat as well as computers, I got my 1st email address less than a year ago. I'm catching on though. mrflowermarket became my "computer name" because flowermarket wasn't available the first time i tried to sign-up somwhere. Maybe ebay, I can't remember. so that's where that name came from. My "real world" is Kevin or Dad as my 5 kids call me. So there is that info. FOR WHAT IT's Worth. Real names or "stage names", I don't care-- as long as we get to exchange ideas between each other. I kinda lean toward stage names Not sure why. Best Wishes mrflowermarket:newbie

Someone was already using the name Jenny, so I used an alias. Many years ago someone told me I had a smile like Mona Lisa (it was not a compliment-they were trying to tell me I didn't really smile...) jenny
I guess I need to ad her picture as an avatar now...

Cause I make the best Biscotti in the world... And NO you can't have the recipe.

Our shop name is Distinctive Occasions because we used to do a lot of event decorating. We have since realized that our heart wasn't in that anymore and the stress was killing me so I no longer do much in that area. The name no longer fits that well and my husband doesn't think it is the right name but I think it would be detrimental to change it at this point.

Real name Wanda although I used to sing on as Smiles. :)

Wanda

"Geebf" is just a bit of Shorthand really for the name of my shop - "Geebung Florist"

But you can call me "Karla":thumbsup
