Hyacinth in bridal bouquet

An easy answer is to add the hyacinth into the bouquet holder first, even before greenery. Once the hyacinth stems are in, secure them into the holder with wood picks crosswise through the holder and hyacinth stems, this will secure them. Then you can design the rest of the bouquet as you normally would.

We are using hyacinth in Hand Tieds all the time at the moment in the UK. I don't wire them but I do mix them with other flowers and foliage for support. I would just be careful with the sap running. I would consider guttering/ florist taping all the way down the stem. Miwed with other flowers it will not matter if they are covered as you will not see them.

We use hyacinth a lot too in everything -they're just gorgeous and very cost effective .Most people love the range of colours (I love the white best myself ) Do you ever thread or pip them Johan they look so different

I love hyacinths and muscari. Well any spring flowers (except daffi's). I love spring best for flowers as you can get if your lucky widow iris which love soooo much. I have a vase of dead ones on my window sill. I can bare to part with them. I like hyacinths in corsages. Only one problem with spring flowers, I'm really allergic to the sap and get really bad rashes from them. Eucalyptus and orchids too. Cymbidiums are my other favorite. It's a total bummer really but I am happy to put up with the itching for my beauties.

I'm with you on all the spring flowers ,they're only beautiful .I use a load of cymbids and the prices are very good at the moment .They will feature big in my Mothers day work.Watch out for the sensitivity you are developing with the sap ,that can get worse and worse ,a friend of mine ended up hardly able to hold a flower or use her hands it was so bad .That severe dermatitis is not funny so get advice .I remember doing my NDSF learning all about Tulip Finger and it was scary stuff.

Tell me about it. I've been a florist for twenty years and have suffered the whole time. Face gose blotchy and itchy and my hands crack . I'm also allergic to anything with perfume in it, deodrant washing powder everything. It's just how I am. The only advice the doctor ever gave me wash change your job. Hummm! Helpful NOT. I have had to talk time off before now but unless I get to the stage where I can't hold anything I just accept it.

Sounds like long term exposure to pesticides and herbicides to me. It's terrible stuff, I had a patch removed between my thumb and forefinger years ago.
