Looks to me like the hyacinth blooms have been used individually in this bouquet.

I agree with Erlene, the hyacinth flowers have been individualy wired into the bouquet. the Steph has the pearls, lisianthus, sweet peas, freesia, not sure what the stuff in back is..

The blue star shaped flowers that look like hyacinth blooms are brodea.

Yes, the lavender is the material that resembles what you all thought was old lilac.

I thought I had seen lisianthus as well, but was not sure.....

Here's a more exposed picture from the same wedding...is that lavender? Now I'm really confused...

Definately lilac, just very thin....

and the flowers with pearls are stephanotis, not hyacinth I am sorry to say...

Ditto here, Lilac yes, don't see the Hyacinth, don't see the Lavender, Stephanotis yes, Sweet Pea yes, don't see the Hydrangea either. Brodea yes. Freesia yes. I do think anything mauve/purple achieving the same look will make this a happy bride no matter what you will use (except Iris:))

Stephanotis
Freesia
Sweet Peas
wired Agapanthus blooms
seeds of the euc
tips of fresh lavendar
bit the roundish purple eludes me..I have seen it before but can't remember...
hope you are chargin a ton for this one...

That last image from felicity is NOT the bouquet I looked at. THe one I looked at was the one in all shades of blue/ purple.

Did I identify the materials in the wrong bouquet ????

I thought there were Eustoma blooms (or campanula) - most looked like it must be wired, taped, and/or picked into the bouquet

Here's what I see (refer to image attached).

I've worked with many of those flowers this summer and it seems to me that the Agapanthus is not wired, but rather just spread out in the bouquet. My guess is that the designer started with 1 or 2 stems of Agapanthus and inserted all the other flowers in/around the individual blooms. By placing the other flowers lower, you can get this look of the individual blooms "popping out" without having to wire individually the Agapanthus.
I think the some of the delphinium blooms may have been wired individually in order to place them in the bouquet.

This type of bouquet is time consuming and you have to make sure everything is wired and ready to go before assembling, because once you start, you won't be able to easily put this bouquet down to wire more flowers... (unless you have an assistant that can wire on demand).

I don't know what the last flower is... could be butterfly bush, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. Could also be lilac tips....

No, I was just showing a better image from the same wedding of the pink product that was being labeled as lavender. It looked like lilac to me in all the other photos so I wanted to post a photo of it to show a clearer image. They used the lilac to back the bouquet so all you see are the darker, dried looking, ends of the lilac.

The pew decoration with peonies isn't the image that's being discussed but, it does contain the same lilac that's in the first image - just a clearer representation of it.

The original picture that Inferno emailed to me to post is in the first few posts of this thread.

I am sure that the flower that you have labelled agapanthus is not agapanthus, Im sure its brodea :>. I also think that what you have labelled as delphinium could also be anemone or lisianthus but without seeing the stem structure its difficult to tell really

If it was agapanthus they would have individually wired them. I am looking at some in my cooler right now and there are a lot of blossoms, close together. I think you're right, DeeDee.
