We used to not get singatures, until one day we hand delivered 2 dz pink roses to a hospital, and the nurses at the desk happily accepted them. The recipient never got them. (We'd had this happen a few times over the years but kind of just swallowed hard & took the loss) This time, however, I called the hopsital administrator to talk to her about it. Her demeanor over the phone was kind like thats just too bad. (having been a patron in the hospital a few months earlier, I had looked at my bill and paid $7.50 a piece for regular tylenol due to a surgery- and knew there was no getting out of that) So, I told her my only recourse would be to get the police department involved, and her relpy was-Whatever for? I replied, because a crime has been committed--someone took something that didn't belong to them. She told me she was apalled that I would think that way, and I replied so be it, I'm calling the police. I hung up, and 2 minutes later she called back & said the hospital would gladly pay for the missing roses. Now-even though they would pay for the roses, I believe a signature shows something definitive was delivered and someone needs to be responsible.
