I need some thoughts on this scenario....long a$$ post!

Interesting! My town must be stuck in the dark ages!
I have done a cooler test too and have a traditonal all round, a cube and a funky one sided at the same price and the traditional sells!
I am trying to pull the town shoppers out of the dark ages but its a slow go!
I still sell plenty of traditional styles as well but I'm probably 50/50 now as compared to 5 years ago when traditional was 90 %. I sell them what they want but always show them what could be, so that if I get a new customer in the door they can see I am not stuck in the 90's.

I generally roll out tests like this at holiday time in my small city..there is more traffic and I can really get a feel for what the general public wants without feeling undue pressure to sell to them, they are ready to buy and will buy what they want without feeling like they need to save...i can then feel like I am not lieing when I tell people how ppular they are and when I feel comfortable selling a product it sells, when I am not 100% comfortable I sell badly..

Try getting yourself convinced that this is what people want and you will be able to convince people to buy them...just think how easy it is to sell the gorgeous roses you just bought because you gush over them, create excitement for the customer, but you really do need to believe the hype yourself to sell it well...that is why Shannon sells her stuff so well, she knows her design work is better than good, she has embraced her greatness and sells it with complete confidence...and the rare idiot that doesn't believe in her, she could care less if they walk out her door, cause if they ain't payin for Shannon, they can take their chances elsewhere...I strive to be like her in my confidence as a florist...I need a good dose of that kind of if you want me you need to pay for me kind of attitude...

We have gone to calling a local foist in the area we wish to send flowers to and ordering directly - most florists offer a courtesy discount, and if they don't, we still get our service fee and make our customer happy. With TF these days florists are dropping out like flies there are many areas where they no longer have any florsits who are members. If we all work together the problem is solved and there are no fees or rules - similar to smaller government means less taxes (fees) more freedom (no rules for pricing). TF and the others have turned against us anyway with national advertising that directs customers to call them rather then their local florist - since we all know the only way to make any money is to send equal amounts of orders to those we take - they are reducing the orders we can send and keeping the profits for themselves. With the internet, we do not need them sucking all our profits anymore.
