I have a wedding consultation with with the Mother of the Groom who is paying for the flowers and who is a self-professed hobby florist. I think I see red flags because her terminology is already unbearable. When asked what the color palette is she responded "ivory, fawn and somewhere between timid blue and lagoon blue." :wide: Who talks in paintchip lingo? I think I'm in for trouble...

The laugher and tears are a rollin'...timid blue, good lord.

Been there, and have been known to Fire the Customer!!!

No thanks, if your so smart, do it yourself. (She's probably planning that anyway!)

Good Luck with this one!

Oh that so made me chuckle, i agree with everything you say. We are in recession though so just take the silly sods money and then tell us about it and we'll laugh with you :thumbsup

Good luck with matching those colours btw..

Which red do you see? Is it Chinese Red, blended Sunset Red, Blood Wine Red... please be more specific. ;)

OH Katie,

I hope you remember to include the color thesauraus upcharge (aka PITA pricing)!!!!!

Just wait until she starts telling you what design styles she likes... I see the centerpieces in a lovely pave' with a slight flair toward Biedermeier....perhaps she needs to remove the Horgath curve from her ass.

Remember to bust out all your latin flower names...don't even think of calling a rose a rose (so to speak).

Shes probably at home now thinking of new names for colours, she will be thinking she is impressing you with her vast knowledge of the colour wheel lol Just think yourself lucky, you only have to listen to this at consult, her friends will have to live the colour chart. Lets call her the "timid blue fawn". I think it suits:thumbsup

Poor fawn... timid and blue... methinks dead.

I'm impressed...

I guess this customer believes that you may be able to either spraypaint or hand dip the flowers with colormatch at Lowe's. The biggest red flag I foresee with this scenario is that she will attempt to gather design info from you as a professional and then turn around and shop for a better price elsewhere, or just use your ideas and do the flowers herself. Maybe the color thing is a distraction to keep you off guard. What fun! Keep us posted...Great Thread!

Whata bbbbbb,,but I hate to say this folks you will be seeing more of the paint chicklets coming in, it is in all the mags to take the paint chips to the venue, and florists, bridal shops so that they know what they are talking about,,,,,So sad but so true...I would just grin and bear it, but dear you have already felt the red flag so why put yourself through this,,,,and the timid blue is one of Waters dress this year, and the fawn is that Flirt dress this year as well,,,,,

I agree with Victoria on this, depending on the shade of red flag you are seeing, and I'm thinking perhaps ass red is the shade, you may want to think about being booked that weekend. :bangles:
