Had a gal in this December looking at our RED Christmas balls, "Hun, is that a TRUE RED or is that a Crimson Red?" It's a good thing we strive to be nice.
Colors are always being renamed so I'm not surprised they have names like this. Think about some of the colors we had, dusty pink, country blue. Not a lot different in terms of seemingly weird names, we were used to them being called that is all.
Pander a little to the future MIL and treat her like she knows what she's talking about and she could turn out to be one of your best sources of referrals.
To tell you the truth I'd be grateful if a customer brought paint chips in, I wouldn't have to guess at the color as they try to describe it. Just ask for a piece of it and tape it to the consultation form
Good advice Erlene. I'm actually a paintchip girl myself requesting them when the Brides don't have access to fabric swatches. But I have to laugh that this MIL has not met me yet and uses paintchip names to describe the palette. Doesn't she know that I'm a Benjamin Moore Girl and not Sherwin Williams? aintplus
