Given your current financial situation, where would you retire?

Would you stay in your own community, move to Florida, to Texas, the Sunshine States, the West Coast, or Mexico???

I was bored & just wondering.

Me...I'm going to Mexico!!!

can't afford to retire.... but hubby wants to summer in Alaska and winter in Maine... (go figure)
actually, I'd go to the Beaufort SC area (I love it there)

grand marais michigan in the summer.

not sure about the winter... not looking to be a snow bird and do the florida/texas thing.

Maybe grand marais in the winter too. as long as I have a good supply of books, crafts and netflicks. Oh and the hubby too.

Already have the spot, the house, the water, woods and seclusion... oh yea, and the gate at the end of the driveway...

East Tawas MI!!!

Can you say... FISH ON!

If I retired today....I would probably live in a cardboard box in my home town of Revere, that would be if I could find a box....

There will be no retiring for me anytime soon...

Funny thing I moved to South Florida 27 years ago on the 3 year move back north plan, and never went home! I really wanted to for years but found I couldn't afford NY/NJ prices and then the kids were in school and we didn't want to move them. Now that I have retired I love it here, wouldn't want to be anyplace else, mainly for the lack of winter weather and arthritis comfort. The summers here are still killer, but I have learned to cope, and there is so much to do.:scooter::scooter:

That's easy- St.Kitts in the Caribbean! Gotta go where it's warm,no one will find me and the drinks taste great !!!

I don't necessarily want to move anywhere exotic. I love the Georgian Bay area for all seasons except winter. I love being here up until Christmas so that only leaves January to March. Perhaps, and this is my fantasy, I would travel to exotic locales during those months.

Great question by the way.

I'm with Lori ... no $$$ to retire, and not enough seniority for a cardboard box.

Still, I love the Tdot and can't see myself ever leaving.

Who said anything about money... who needs cable, lights and such? Got wood for the fire, and a gun and fishing pole!

Tdot?? Is that like Ttown? As in Toronto? ;)

Yes... that's Hogtown, the big smoke... TO, Tdot...

Now because it's my fantasy money is not object, because if it were, well, no retirement for me.

Hopefully I'll stay right here, on the Rideau River, tending the gardens and volunteering for all the great people in my home town. I'd love to be one of those people who hold sick babies in the childrens hospital...just holding those little people always reminds me how great life is.

I can see it but why do you need a pole?

I woud like to travel accross the USA by automobile with my Husband to see the rest of our beautiful country. But I will never move away from Vermont I love the 4 seasons. I donot think I could deal with all the disasters everywhere else, I will take the snow any day, I donot care for hot hot weather, hurricanes, toronados, fires and 8 lane highways. But not retiring any time soon in the near future, and I am thankful that I have a good business to fall back on when I do retire

Florida panhandle- Own only child lives there & I miss her alot. Hubby can retire in 2 years. Might just do it! My daughter works at a wedding florist & I think I could get a job there, we love to work together.
