OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The business right next door to me (a dentist) has a paved parking lot, mine is gravel. Entrance driveways are a little complicated....my customers use the driveway between us to go in and out, his customers use it to go out. Technically it is his property, but it has never been an issue of us driving on it. Sooooooooo.....we have gotten something like 1.5' of snow in the last few weeks. First time his plow driver plowed a 3' high pile, blocking half of the entrance to my lot. I went over there and very nicely asked him to have his driver make the pile elsewhere. His reply...*They have to put it somewhere*. I told him that they were more than welcome to push it to the back of my lot. He really didn't care. So I kicked him in the teeth. Okay...not really, but I wanted to. What I really wanted to do was have my dog take a dump in the front seat of his car, or on his front porch...and say *He had to put it somewhere*. So I come in today, after another 6" snow last night, and now my lot is 2/3 blocked. I'm trying really really hard to calm down....but as soon as he gets to work, I'm going to go unleash a can of whoopass on him. In a big way. Then I'm probably going to spend the next two hours shoveling this gigantic pile out of my way. Bleepty bleep bleep bleeping bleep!

May I make a suggestion of another solution? How about paying a share of the snow removal... as you said it's his property and he generally lets you use it.

I just WISH...and this is my *live in a bubble where everyone is nice, thoughtful, considerate and kind*....that people would be respectful of the people around them. This plow driver doesn't give a rats butt about inconveinencing a neighbor...he just wants to get his $100 out of the job he was hired to do. He probably is that person that never uses his turn signal either.)

I know. But unfortunately this is not a kinder or gentler world. So we have to do what we can to sweeten it up for us and hence, those around us. No point in throwing a fit with him... it'll only build a wall of cement.

Either pay with money or service (arrangement for his office is a great idea) or flowers for his wife. Whatever, you will be the better for it.

I say you shovel that snow on over to his side!! On second thought, hire a snow plow guy to shove it over to his side.

Or PAY the snow plow guy to push all the snow to the back. I'm sure he'd be happy to clear two lots if he got paid to clear two lots.

If I were decorating for a fancy dinner party, and they ordered a center peice and place settings and then at the very last minute asked if I could do a mantle peice, they get charged for the extra work, naturally.

I too hate snow drama. I really do feel for you. Good luck and I hope it all works out!

;) Aileen that's not following the Energy Bus (thanks for that recommendation again).

Besides it's a parking lot, not a school yard. :)

HAHAHAHA...Yeah V you're right...but sometimes you just gotta let some steam out! ;) You're welcome for th e recommendation!

Truthfully, I would have aksed the guy to go halfers on the plow and have it stacked up somewhere agreeable to both.

I had a therapist (helping me get through a terrible time in my life) tell me that it was okay to have fantasies that were "aggressive". ;) She too said it was a good way to relieve strain. I had some humdingers then. Of course the caveat (isn't there always one of those), I had best not act on them. Dam n. :) He's still living and kharma has not been kind and I'm not in jail. It's all good.

You can come up here to Iowa we have close to 3 ft on the ground and no place to put it. We got another 3 inches yesterday with winds of 40 miles and hour today drifts are everywhere. Wind chills of -40 on Friday morning.
I understand your problem I have neighbors in a house next to me who park in my lot the minute the snow is pushed away. I have to call them every time the snow removal guy is coming. The nutty neighbor next door ask the landlord if I paid rent on all of my parking lot she wanted to use it and he told her she pays rent on all of her share. People just get dumber and dumber anymore.

Yeah it's crazy here!!! I'm about to hire someone to plow my driveway!!! It's just too much to shovel.

I went over and had a chat with him. He was a jerk at first, but then actually looked at the blockage, and changed his tune. He's going to fire the plow guy....the dentist was already irked with him for not shoveling his sidewalk, and uprooting a bunch of the concrete logs in the parking lot. Sounds like the plow guy is just plain worthless. I know that they are busy this time of year...but that's no reason for shoddy work. Now I'm just trying to warm up from my hour of shoveling my steps, walk and lot in -14 degrees. I have a giant cup of hot chocolate.)

Good! I am glad to read this. On the shoveling, you are awesome! I'm trying to avoid it. dagnabbit!

I despise shoveling. DESPISE it. I have never, in 12 years of having a driveway (at home!), ever shoveled it. Nobody but me is ever at the house...so what does it matter? And no sidewalks at home to shovel either. Delightful. But at the shop, I have no choice. My parking lot is gravel, so I can't have it plowed. The last few years have not been that bad...but this year is just awful. Contemplating buying a snow-blower. On the plus side....my biceps are getting noticably firmer.)

I've spoken to about five different plow guys over the last few years, and asked if they could do it with the blade up higher...and they don't want to touch it. It's not been a really huge issue in past years...I've managed to shovel it all myself. But we haven't had this kind of snow on the ground in a long time. Some drifts are over 4 feet. I guess I need to get on the horn next week and call another 5 plow guys. And another 5 after that until I find someone that will do it for me.)

Every time someone replies to this thread, I get a huge chuckle out of the headline.....I guess I am bored today or needed to lighten up on my go, go, go...havn't gotten too much accomplished today, well packing up christmas does count, right!!!
