Is this an OG?

well, we have a florist in Charlotte who operates out of storage space....Is this classified as a florist? T/F had her as a member and later
dropped her (don't know exact reason), today she told a customer to call us because she could not fill his order. I am not complaining
about this, but FSN has her as a member. Not available to walk-in customers, she only takes phone-in orders and FSN orders. If the
qualification to be a florist has 'no qualification', than 7-11 could be a florist too as they carry single roses for all walk-ins.

Helen,

I'm not sure where Lori found her domain lookup. Here is the one I found.

they are listed on FSN's Hispanic directory. They look to be an OG for people in latin america to get flowers to the US. I googled florists in that zip code, and Anycountriesflowers.com has a matching phone number on google places.

So do you think they are an OG with a B&M location or only OG? What's the prevailing opinion here on FC about FSN letting them in either way? I know that many have expressed concern that FSN lets all kinds of "florists" in, that are not necessarily qualified designers. Ofcourse the issue there is who gets to decide what a qualified designer is?

I am out of FSN when my current sub runs out. They are already becoming "more" than they were 2 years ago when I first signed up. Their organic listing does not impress me in my area, their websites are ugly, they are offering more and more "premium" services for more money. Funeral Home Network was the thing that pushed me over the edge. Also, there are 2 shops in my town that have FSN websites and when they are closed and/or not able to deliver(which is quite often), it automatically forwards to another shop in my town (used to be me until i found out what was going on and told them to quit).

If I am going to pay someone to market for my shop, they are going to be a marketing person and not some half-assed lumpusallintoapile that benefits the administrator in the long run. Think about it. You pay someone $400 dollars a year once a year to look at your SEO. When you quit that person, you still have the benefit of his work. When you quit FSN what do you have? That $400 a year has been spent solely to benefit the FSN listing.

To me, seems like they are a B&M front that does legit business but it would seem, based upon the above input, that the majority of business is through OG.

Surely though, the key point is Jamie's with FSN as they currently stand and what they charge. Some advocate that the best way to help your local consumer send flowers long distance is to give them contact info of florists you know or understand are good in the recipient's area and offer this occasional service in effort to build your customer loyalty. Doing this means no need for FSN and your annual fees spent elsewhere directly into your business, just as Jamie suggests.

I always try to get the customer to call a shop directly and will give them a name. Lately i've had more people not wanting to bother and so I do it for them. FSN was a nice way to transition away from traditional wire service, but I think it's coming to an end soon. I will keep you posted and I appreciate the input from everyone.

Somebody just posted on FB they tought Tele had bought FSN. These wire services are going to find ways to increase membership, even if it means buying someone out, numbers driver investors, not really profits. So, lets create our own WS, then sell to someone big, oh we already did that, sorry..................

Sorry for the scare, but this is just a rumor. I can assure you that we are still here and haven't sold to TF. It is difficult to combat this type of information if we don't know where it is coming from.

With that rumor clarified and thrown out, can FSN, who are clearly reading this thread/board, address the issues started by Helen/Concord. The initial question has been denied by FSN. In attempting to verify that, some posters/members have come up with seemingly different and, arguably, contradictory to FSN's denial information. May we please have written verification FSN?

Thank you for clarifying this for everyone.... and yes, it can be difficult to control misinformation....
