Clay, I once gave a speech to a state FD convention. I spoke first wearing my 3 piece suit and complained about all the bad things florists did ie:rusty easels that stained my oriental rugs, delivery guys is short shorts, loud music in van etc. I then knelt behind the podium and stood up wearing an FTD hat & apron and spoke as a florist. I had so many FD come up after and say" I never thought about it that way". Since the days of Bud lipinski, we have not had an advocate. Some traing of the se up & coming FD in their school might help, as I find they are so "green" and have no idea what flowers do at a service. Unfortunately, it takes $ and no wire service is willing to step up and state assns are a thing of the past. I'm willng to help in any way we can to bring our message back to the forefront

Often, we florist do not see why the funeral directors don't like us. When you see it from both side....what an eye opener.
