Say what? Who's $10 are we talking about here?

Now I have to go check the cash register. I'm sure it was the $10 bill (not the new Monopoly style, but the previous design) that had a US flag in front of the building.

Argh! That's not the US flag, sorry Peter, but it isn't the Union Jack either - it's the Canadian flag!

Canada's current flag is very new - we got it around 1967. Prior to that, the Canadian flag was like the Australian flag is currently, it featured the Union Jack in the upper left hand corner - like where the stars are on the US flag. The younger generations (of which Ryan and I are part) have never lived under that flag and hence, didn't recognize it for what it was.

Sir. Wilfred Laurier (the dude on the Fiver) stands in front of the Parliament buildings that fly the Canadian flag as it was during his lifetime. If you look closely, you'll notice that there a blazon (bottom right) on the flag that does not appear on the US flag.

It was a generalization, Peter, since I don't know how old half the people here are courtesy of the software glitch here.

I've heard about the $5.00 coin, but I think there'll be riots first.

Audra

Audra, it's the Red ensign (sp?).

*nods* Sorry, I keep getting the term messed up with the Heraldic term for it. If I remember correctly, the flag pictured is the one that Ontario currently uses (or is very similar).
