Jesus Called Arrangement?

I really like the square form it is a more up todate look than the old pillow stands we use to do here in the south.

Last year I had a customer to call to order a casket spray for her mother. She wanted a phone in it with the Jesus called banner. I explained that the toy phones were all like cell pnone now(thought I could get out of putting the phone in the cs). She says oh I have a coulpe of phones I will leave one with the funeral director.Oh well what could i say. I delivered the piece to the funeral home in a near by town. When the funeral director brought out the phone it had this really long cord. So I go to work arranging this phone and more flowers into the casket spray right there on the casket. When all of a sudden I really started to loose it (thinking about how this phone had this really long cord and how it would reach so easily into the casket making it look as though she really answered). I tried to subdue my laughter which really sounded like sobs. The director thought that I was over come with greif so he brings me a tissue. I never let on other wise I did not want to be disrespectful, knowing this paticular person I know she would have found great humor in this situation to.

Posey, your post reminded me of something one of my FDs told me the other day.

He said they once had a family member place a cell phone inside the casket before they closed the lid and continued with the funeral out to the cemetary.

Caroline,

What did you attach the "Mum" to (the back board). Mom is in the John Henry book, but found that it was waaay under priced when I made it for someone. I neglected to check the workbook closely when I sold it. So I ate that one. I ended up calling J Schwanke and he said that it was basically done for you guys over the water. He admitted that the specs were incorrect.

thanks for sharing the pictures. Wish we could get those here. Guess that we get some of the things that you don't. It's give and take--huh?

The Foam Frame letters come pre cut and are made of foam glued to a strong Styro type foam base or we have NaylorBase which is foam inserted into a strong plastic base. All sit on the frame happily and by using the spacer bars and extensions you can do anything up to 7/8 letters.

We recommend a charge out rate of £40 per letter for a solid based style (chrysanthemums etc with a couple of focal points) or around £30/35 for a loose based style. Some people think we are expensive when we cost for design features but on this sort of bespoke funeral work you have to get the costings right as they are labour intensive.

I saw that RFK says that smithers won't be introducing. I can see that shipping over would be a problem (these are a very British line so maybe not worth manufacturing costs over there) but maybe there's a way in the future. Will talk to my Smithers contacts when I see them next month.

The weird thing about all the preformed shapes available here in the UK AND Ireland is that they went out of fashion for a while but are back better and more popular than ever in most places. Some very POSH people do think they are very naff or common.I think anything done well and to the customers specs is going to be beautiful .As long as you make money on it too.Funny how things are so different in Europe and N america /Canada .I have spent hours /days trying to get some of your stuff sent to me here in Ireland and it can be the same for you over there. Is'nt Flowerchat great that we can all share the info whatever about the materials themselves.:ukflag::hug::usflag:
