Some are... some, not so much. :)

Oh man, My hubby is a 10X better cook than I am. In the winter, monday night is soup night, with homemade bread and salad. Yum.
My only complaint is clean up, but I think that is a guy thing. He never wipes down everything - including the cupboard and stove fronts.

For the stinky micro try heating some white vinegar for a few minutes to help kill the smell.

well Victoria,
How do you feel about quiche???

I made my first Quiche this morning.... Never made one before. It's a long story, so here's the short version....

We, at the shop, sighned up to get "food shares" basicly there is a local organic farm close to here that pre sells shares of their crops. We paid like $500 to get fresh organic fruits and veggies and bread all summer long...YUM!

BUT, everyweek SPINACH SPINACH AND MORE SPINACH.... So had to figure out what to do with all this dam* spinach..

Enter the quiche. I'm a good cook, not such a good baker... Turned out Ok, but the crust is slightly soggy... I think that may be an altitude thing, someone else told me they had the same prob..

So see I do eat more than just easy mac and spagetti-0's

In my case, this is sooo true. My husband cooks better than me and so does my dad. I'm food prep challenged. Although I can cook veggies and desserts pretty good. Meats however, are a whole 'nother animal! I can screw up meat even in a slow cooker! I fixed some kind of pork roast in one and it turned out with the taste and texture of a rubber band.

I may be a stinky cook, but I'm the one who fixes stuff around the house and puts together things like the computer desk, bikes, etc... I install lights and fix the plumbing. I guess that redeems me somewhat.

Shannon, about your quiche... Did you make your own crust? You should always bake the crust first in a 400F oven for aprox 12-14 min. While the crust is still hot sprinkle some cheese on it or for a low fat version brush some egg whites on the crust. This will make a barrier between the crust and the egg mixture. Also you should cook your spinach first so you can remove any excess water. hope this helps.
Bon appetit!!

Are you kidding???

I am one of those stupid people who cannot make a pie crust if their life depended on it. Everybody makes fun of me. Thank goodness for pillsbury!!

Anyway, thanks for the tip... It was really good BTW, But I think I put a tad too much salt... But I like salt!

I am soooooo with you. I LOATHE mac and cheese out of a box or a nuked bowl. I have a glorious recipe that requires 3 truly tasty cheeses, and is baked... it is delicious (chilled white wine yummmmm) and dear GOD, NO DAM N CATSUP!!!! ;)

V,

If you ever have nothing better to do, I'd love that recipe!

Well Shannon, pie crust takes time and we all know we dont get too much of it so that should be your excuse from now on.
And about the tips, they're the same for a store bought crust. Just make sure you put the cheese or the egg white while the crust is HOT!

I enjoy a good quiche... freshly made. :)

Squeeze the spinach after you cook it... or let it drain in a colonder.

Sounds yummy by the way. I don't eat it often anymore... weight and all.
