I just got a TF order from Just Flowers on my FAX MACHINE. What is wrong with those people? Of course they make it impossible to fax back to refuse it. Would it be wrong of me to ignore it? It just ticks me off, but at the same time some poor customer on the other end thinks everything is fine and they will have their order sent.

When they call me, all three lines ring at about the same time. Two land lines plus fax line. Drives me crazy, but their fax never ever completes. (I never answer the phone for them, either.)

Love that idea CHR, that would give me a satisfied feeling. They cannot seem to get it put into their system to not call, we have told them time and time again that we would never even consider filling one of their orders. The last time my daughter accidentally answered the CSR said "Are you sure? It's for FIFTY DOLLARS!!" She apparently thought that large amount would impress us enough to take the order. lol

We did not open till 1:00 yesterday
checked caller ID when we got in--there were 6 calls from JustFlowers--wanna bet they were all for the same order??--no communication, no caring for THEIR customer!!!

We had one last week that asked if we delivered to a particular address, then proceeded to ask if we could make an arrangement w/ yarrow, roses, lilies, blue delphinum, etc. she was very surprised we had all the floral product she mentioned. And when she told me i could see a photo on the 1-800- flowers website. i asked the name of the shop she was calling for......when she said just flowers, my reply.. " we do not accept your orders"... I am sure she was surprised and dissappointed that she finally found someone that could make what she wanted... and then would not take the order!

They will do anything to not have to pay for the wire sending fees from Telefora. They were actually desperate enough to send us an order over the wire service, we filled it then they claimed they called and cancelled the order, they're disputing the charge. I now have legitimate reason to refuse all their orders, manager wouldn't let me before.

I wanted to add that ignoring the FAX may not be the best answer since they will blame us for not filling the order and that's what the customer will hear, "It's the florist's fault" I could not believe how many times they give that excuse to the customers that did not get their orders delivered.

Sometimes I tell them our owner will nort allow us to take their orders and then I ask to speak with their manager.... well , since they are calling from their home, there is no manager to talk to. Maybe we will try sending a fax to the fax number CHR posted.

One of the wire services(can't remember which) added to their contract that you needed to accept orders by 3 methods phone, fax and computer..I think it may have been 800-flowers...so that you were bound by the contract to take responsibility for the orders that may be sent any way and just missed...never liked that rule, hate the fax machine, don;t think anyone should send something to a fax without following up on the transmission and none ever does...I have had way too many faxed items from my drs to pharmacy, or from me to insurance agents dissappear to trust it

Every time an OG has sent us a fax order it has been followed up by a phone call.

Tom,

This is a follow-up on the receipt that Just Flowers accidentally faxed to us, that belonged to their customer.
As you can see they charge $10.99 for Delivery and did not give to us, the Florist that makes the delivery.
The sender which becomes our customer VIA the ORDER GATHERER, VIA FTD, Thinks the $10.99
is being given to the person making the DELIVERY and the $74.99 is all going into the flowers. The
people giving their trust to the ORDER GATHERERS are being RIPPED OFF with the HELP OF FTD
and ultimately the HARD WORKING FLORIST can get a BAD REPUTATION because we remove
the DELIVERY FEE out of the $74.99 so the flowers are not to full value that the customer paid for.
HOW MANY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS HAS JUST FLOWERS RIPPED
OFF FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS AND US THE FLORISTS. AND THAT IS DONE WITH THE
HELPING HAND OF FTD AND TELEFLORA, SHAME ON YOU BOTH !!!!!! YOU HAVE THE
PROOF IN YOUR HANDS......DUMP THIS GARBAGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You said you had just as many florist that love to fill high volume cheap orders from JUST FLOWERS.
Than you do the ones that hate Just Flowers. Most likely the cheap florist are already members of
1-800-FLOWERS so they will still get their high volume of cheap orders. You should do more to take
care of your FLORISTS WITH HIGH STANDARDS AND HIGH ETHICS. I really hope you have
talked to your BOSS about this and showed him the receipt from Just Flowers. And I wish that you
forward him this email. I would send it to him but I believe it would just be automatically sent to you. Since
you are the one that returned my call when I left the message for Apatoff.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon with the good news that FTD has DUMPED JUST FLOWERS........

You know, it just boggles my mind that any florist would fill Just Flowers orders, or orders for anyone that advertises in their local Yellow Pages, and online as being in their city. It's so counterproductive to long term profitability.

I wonder, how many would fill orders called to them, from the real local shop down the street, allowing them to take the 20%, pay the ws the 7% and give the other florist a $14.95 $ervice charge and help them collect an $8.00 rebate...

Oh.... you wouldn't fill for your local competition you say???

Then why the hell would you fill for Just Flowers, From You Flowers, Flowers Sent Today, FTD.com, Teleflora.com, 800Flowers.com, Weasly Berry or any of the other "local florists" in your city???

And everyone wonders why they aren't making any real money... BOSS<<<just shakes head

I think we should have an international symbol for Boss shaking his head :) Ryan-we need a new Emoticon!!!!

Thanks Mikey ;)

Interestingly there were no responses to the above scenario, yet florists do it everyday~!

Actually I had this happen to me a few VD ago..A florist 2 towns away from me, sent me an order over the dove for a dg going two streets away from their shop...I called and inquire WTF...and their answer, the customer wanted something they didn't have in stock and they didn't want to lose the customer....reject and it opened my eyes to the fact that esentially this is how the ws game was going down, now the locals want to basically use me as their personal wholesalers and grunt workers...I would never take an order from them again and they were so confused by my disgust of their actions..

I guess I see things differently. I WOULD run an order for a quality shop in my town if they needed something done in a pinch. They are not my competition, as long as we do a good job for our own clients, no one can "steal" them. There is a handful of us that help each other out. We share contacts if there is a good deal on supplies, give a heads up if a fresh product is not top quality, etc etc. If Chattanooga cultivates a strong flower-loving customer base it is only going to help out the quality shops. The OGs and the shady/run down shops in my town bring nothing to the table.

FYI if i received an order from a disreputable source via fax, I would just ignore it. I am not responsible for their lackadaisical attitude towards customer care. Also, they are going to blame me no matter what happens. It's a lose lose, so I am just going to save my CoGS and labor
