Just Flowers

Jamie, I would too.... "in a pinch"... but I would not, and I suspect neither would you on a regular daily basis, where they made more on the order than you did, and they did none of the physical work...

Yet that's exactly what those that fill incoming orders do everyday...

Jamie, we had a couple shops around here, that regularly took orders from THEIR customers, and sent the orders to US, because they couldn't or wouldn't do them themselves....both shops are gone now...ask me IF I'm teary eyed...go ahead, ask.....

Behind all that "growl" is the purr of a kitty cat.........I'm just say'in

Thanks Mikey ;)

Interestingly there were no responses to the above scenario, yet florists do it everyday~!

Shannon and I are "discussing" this in another thread...her "shannonomics" are not yet resolved.......

We can't stand JUSTFLOWERS....I would call TF. Tell them you cant fill it. Let them handle the problem. We have had so many problems with them and nobody speaks english. I dont even answer the phone anymore for them. So tired of them begging us to take the order and must of the time they over talk you. JUSTFLOWERS just needs to go away!!!

We have a standing policy re JF. IF we accept an order from them, it MUST be sent to us via Dove. No fone. No FAX.

Two reasons:
1. They are HOPING that a finite percentage of their orders will NEVER BE REPORTED.
2. They have a reputation for protesting fone and fax orders, thus extending the amount of time until they pay the WS.

Never tested #2 and don't want to know from personal experience.

All the best,

Bill

Actually I had this happen to me a few VD ago..A florist 2 towns away from me, sent me an order over the dove for a dg going two streets away from their shop...I called and inquire WTF...and their answer, the customer wanted something they didn't have in stock and they didn't want to lose the customer....reject and it opened my eyes to the fact that esentially this is how the ws game was going down, now the locals want to basically use me as their personal wholesalers and grunt workers...I would never take an order from them again and they were so confused by my disgust of their actions..

I can't understand why they didn't call you and ask if you could help by selling them the stock they needed. If I'm in a pickle I contact a florist in the next town who I know and he will help me out if he can. He has even picked up stock from the wholesalers for me before. And in return if he stocks something I don't (big range of silks) I send my customer there if that is what they need and I don't loss them. And if he needs help I give it. His stock isn't generally as good as mine but it tends to be for last minute funerals I have called on him (open lilies that sort of thing). Once the wholesalers is closed for the day sometimes asking the help of others can be a life line.

We just had a customer in yesterday wanting help sending an order to a small town in Missouri - she said, and I quote "We tried a flower shop in that town, Just Flowers, online but didn't have any luck" YIKES! So I had to explain that Just Flowers isn't a flower shop.

I feel it is an up hill battle educating my customers into sending direct. I prefer to talk to them and explain how they can look for a shop in the local area. I tell them to make sure they check where the shop is based and if it isn't obvious or out of the area not to use them. I explain it is better to ring the shop after looking on there website to see what they do, the first time they use them so that they can build up a rapour the the business and then if they can order online and feel confident to do this they could then use that option in future. I do send out flowers via eflorist if the sender prefers for me to do it. But I am a lite member so don't receive any orders and don't pay any charges of any kind to them. I use this system because I do send alot abroad. The one thing that amazes me is how many countries still use fax as a way of sending orders. I had an problem with an Australia order last month that never got there because the florist was shut and didn't switch off their fax so the order was sent and when they came back never followed it up. Took 2 weeks to sort it out, which is rediculous in this day and age. Computers are so cheap and much cheaper to run than faxes and you can get instant confirmation.
