ok, what's the quickest way to get 'em soaked.. Takes forever and drives me nuts!!!!

I soak them in our large sink. The wreath forms have to be turned to allow all parts to soak. Probably not the best way, but it works for us.

Rubbermaid Tub

We use a large rubbermaid tub - fill it up, soak one side of the wreath, then rotate the wreath and let it soak a little while, repeat as necessary.

More haste - less speed

I work for Smithers over here and although it has one of the fastest take up times you mustn't force water into foam as that will cause hot spots.

I know soaking foam is a bit like waiting for a kettle to boil or watching paint dry but the rule of thumb we work to is to float foam bricks or frames on water and allow it to sink naturally which will mean the water penetrates all the foam and allows every flower get's its share.

Pouring water over foam is OK but again should be done slowly to ensure maximum water penetration.

This is what we do as well.. Drives me crazy.

Anybody know of a big giant tub that's some what shallow of some sort that I can float a 36" wreath in?

I don't have room for any of the above suggestions....so I just take a garbage bag and put the wreath in that face down and add a couple of watering cans of water, force the air out and tie closed. If I have to add more water in a little bit I do. When its soaked I take the wreath out and drain the water.:)

We had a steel metal company create a large, shallow tray that allows us to soak our forms - I love the idea of the kiddie pool (using beer to prop up especially!) - at our annual convention, we use a plastic bin to soak all forms / oasis bricks needed for the hands on classes. I have found the kind you can store thing under your bed work well.

Good luck!

kiddie pool is such a good idea.

I HATE babysitting a wreath while it soaks. Yes, I know I can walk away and rotate it. But I just want to fill something up with water, walk away come back and it's ready.

Balance the flying saucer, fill entirely with water and put the ring in foam side down. Those of you in warmer climes probably do not have access though, since you do not have snow. Probably a thirty-six inch ring is too large.

I just figured out what you meant!!

That's a good Idea too!!

Lizzi's Idea is great as well!!

I always wrap it with 1/4" green tape as extra insurance (per J Schwanke). It is really bad when the FH calls and your wreath is on the floor in pieces! Anyway, I soak it in a large flat Rubbermaid container (the ones that hold wrapping paper, etc.) I have to turn the large wreaths, but they soak all the way thru!
