Headed to LA (not Lower Alabama, the real LA) Friday morning.
Kathie and I will be spending the weekend in Vegas, visiting my Brother.
Monday we head back to LA for tests at Cedar-Sinai for me to be evaluated as a kidney donor for my daughter. . . .

She is doing pretty good right now with the dialysis. She has had a few issues over the last few months, but has worked through it.
(A side note: She has a new boyfriend and we like him too. If he hangs through the next few months, I'd say he is a keeper. Heck, the first time I met him he was at the shop wiring roses for bouts, jumped right in there.)

UAB here in B'hm has had us jumping through hoops while they are trying to catch up "Technology" wise with C-S. They ain't there yet, so we opted to proceed with the tougher decision to have everything done at C-S.

Tuesday morning: Stress Test (my boss says he would let them know I can handle the stress okay)
Wednesday (all day) I get to drink some radio active cocktails, . . .yum.

Thanks in advance for prayers. . . .

(sorry for not updating more often.. .thanks to all who have asked)

Have a safe flight and we'll pray that everything goes right for you.

Many thanks for. . . .

the thoughts and prayers.

I passed all tests with flying colors.
They were all amazed how much I have been blessed with an abundance of good health.
Ran the marathon (seemed like it anyway) on the stress test. Target heart rate was 142. . . .they kept asking me if I was okay and let me run it up to 162 then made me hold it there for a minute. . . . .huff and puff.
Doc said I did great.
Today, got poked and proded by the United Nations (all very friendly). Got injected with who knows what. . . . Xrayed and CT'd and I may glow in the dark.

It may be anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on several things before we go to the next step.

Got to meet some very neat people, donors and potential recipients. . . .

Folks, if you ever have the desire to really help someone. . . . consider donating a kidney you don't really need to someone that really does.

It's a lot to ask, but you have a lot to give.

Headed back to Bama Thursday.

I'm sorry I missed this thread Glenn. I'm glad things are progressing in a positive way for you and yours. Continued thoughts come to you from London, Ontario.

Also, the boyfriend has it figured out... the best way to Dad's heart, is through wire. :)

One Step At A Time. . . . .

This evening about 4:30 PM CST, I received a call from Cedars. . . . . .

I have been APPROVED as kidney donor for my daughter!
It is pretty cool that a non compatible blood type donor can donate.

Expect to have a schedule of events in about a week.

Pretty good news for a Thursday afternoon.

Good for you Glenn...what better gift for you to give to your daughter..
My prayers to all of you going though this.
I hope you pass the inspection at the airport with all that "glow"...
Travel safely!
