Making a Flower Frame

I know you weren't. I stay away from glue because once you use it thats it. I don't think waiting for glue to dry is worth the excitement of production, who can wait that long especially on a lovely piece like this? With limited storage I use tons of black dry wall screws because I can disassemble everything to be recycled easily.

Thanks for sharing Cathy, excellent modifying and beautiful work.

I know most are talking about the mechanics but i really love the collection of flowers. Love the roses and one of my favourites is trailing amaranthus. Over here that type of design would never be seen, I love that you guys use easels to display flowers, again here that would not happen, i have no idea why.

Anyway, what are those lilac roses called??

There are so many reasons to love this.
First, I am impressed by the way you see a challenge, and then find a solution.
Too many florists think that because there is no standard answer in the
teleflora or ftd book that it cannot be done. I love the way you know that there is an answer, and you charge forward, knowing that there is a solution.
The design itself is lovely, and I congratulate you for making such a pleasing and appropriate memorial to a loved one. Also, for not identifying him/her. That is class.

Now, please do tell, what was the fee for this living tribute?

In my area we would be loking at around 350$...maybe a bit more...I did not add up the product. Am I close?

Thanks for a great thread, Cathy. I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

That turned out beautiful! I LOVE it!

How did you price this for the customer not knowing the number of flowers that would be needed?
The quantity needed was about the same for a wreath using the largest outer dimension. We also had 11 other large pieces for this service so we had plenty of flowers to use at our discretion. The family was more focused on colors than precise varieties or exact quantities.

The lavender/lilac rose is 'Cool Water.'

Yes. :)

The family member who did the bulk of the flower ordering called me yesterday to say the designs moved them to tears. It's such a good feeling to know our work was a comfort at such a difficult time.

Thanks, everybody for your kind words. :)

Floral Frame

The piece is gorgeous, Cathy. You did right by that family and you've given me food for thought down the road. I know a few people who are preplanning a cremation and that's a wonderful option.
