Making Cube Vases Easier for Delivery

I find taking 2-4 stems of curly willow, wrapping it around 4 fingers & tying it in a loose knot slightly larger than the cube works well. When you insert the "knot" of willow into the vase it makes an unmovable grid because it is oversized. Everything stays put. People love the look. You can prep days in advance. I also use curly willow to hold foliage lined vases in place. The saved time more than compensates for the cost of curly willow tips.

Love the video!

So how does everyone box them up for transportation when you have a high number of them (wedding centerpieces)?

We usually transport in low, long flower boxes padded with air cushions. This works, but delicate flowers like lilies are still prone to bruising from transport just by brushing against the air packs.
Used to use flowerboxes, then they always get way too wet & they're too tall. Rubbermaid under the bed storage boxes - bought about 30 of them a year or more ago & they'll easily carry 4-6 depending on size (and back health ;) ) with the foam from orchids between them, or the individual boxes they come in used as spacers between the arr's.

These boxes work great for any low vase - bubble bowls, cylinders, cubes.

Next, we need a cart.

This tip works for me too. Glad to see someone else has this issue with delivery.

Truthfully, if you follow one of these from design table to delivery to table you will see they are hard to master. When out on my own deliveries I have been completely annoyed at how they travel. The hand tieds are my best solution also. FYI on the taped grids, you might be surprised at how those look when water sloshes up from the vase and loosens the tape. To counter this.......because when grid taping is done improperly, it can look awful when water sloshes.

Your cube is square.......You SHOULD be completely encircling the cube vase with the clear tape. If your vase is dry when you tape, and you take the tape completly around the vase.......And secure the tape to itself......trust me, that grid ain't going nowhere.

Just a small tip from me, follow some of your designs out the door, in your current delivery vehicle, around the corners, through the stop lights, bends in the roads, and other people's driveways. You may very well come back with a different take on your design mechanics/needs.

To add another comment - if you are taping a grid across a lipped container.......wrap and secure the tape ends by going completely around the vase BELOW the lip of the container.
