Meth kills...kill meth!!
Meth labs, and pot houses have become a rampant industry, and I begrudgingly agree, that any and ALL forms of apprehension are a necessary evil, over and above the violation of one's civil liberties.
I've yet to meet a person that WANTS to do meth.....they "HAVE" to, to "survive" in their world, and that "look" tells all.
Sure, we'd love to lock them all up, and forget about them, but, this is serious stuff, that has a massive impact on our younger crowd, and we need to find the core reasons for turning to destructive drugs, literally killer drugs.

Unfortunately just locking people up is not the answer. Our prison system is rife with drugs to start with and we all know that you can't be forced to clean up you have to WANT it for yourself. Perhaps other parts of the country aren't so backward as south FL, but I have seen to many come out of jail and be back to business as usual in days. Additionally, from what I saw while working in the Psych Dept, many abusers actually have psychatric issues and are trying to self medicate. Some people will do just about anything not to feel the pain.

After meth in a year or two something else will come along, and then again another after that. Can you remember when pot was the evil, evil thing? Anyone remember prohibition?

Scary as it affects families, businesses and our civil liberties.

You're very right - the War on Drugs is a sheer and utter failure and legalization and education is the only hope.

The harsher they criminalize drugs - the higher the price goes, the higher the price goes, the crme level goes up with it. Nobody stops because of the law alone. They just sink further.

It really is the only way. Remove the criminal element, the profit, the horror.

Let's control the self medication the same way medicine is controlled to make people healthy. Stop pouring billions of dollars into Law enforcement and The Jail system and use it to heal people.

I expect to lose some points on this.

Meth Makeover

Dang... if that does not stop a few folks... I don't know what would.

Wow!! That is really an eye opener. You are right.....if that does not stop them, there is no way anything we do will help.

I have never been around drug users or exposed to drugs in my life (I know I am naive and have no life), but, I just don't get it. What would make a person try this when they know they will end up like this? This is serious stuff.
