How do we know that David?

After the sender complained about the size of the flower arrangement as a result of the skimming I invited her to come to my store and I would provide her with a larger size arrangement. As I was talking to her she said she was looking for a local florist and thought they were one. I think thats why they put / Cambridge after there URL in the paid sponsor results. It looked like
www.11florist.com/ Cambridge yesterday.

it's just that the task is for us to figure out where the target is and position ourselves there.
Precisely.

The target is consumers looking for local florists and 11flowers positions themselves to appear to be one by including:
- "family owned and operated for 90 years"
- name of city in both title and URL (every AdWords includes domain/target_city in link
- on page text saying " 11Flowers is a full service florist that has specialized in nation wide delivery since 1910. We are family owned and operated and committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements and gifts, backed by service that is friendly and prompt."

Only an experienced flower buyer (or florist) would look beyond the ad to make certain the company was local in Cambridge because everything they present makes them look 'safe'.

Why do you think the Boston station deemed the story of misleading locations and skimming to be newsworthy?

Do you blame the ripped off consumers for stupidly believing what they read or do you fault the perps and the WSs that pay them for their deception? I choose the later.

... no not that way, sort of like Jesus loves you but not that much, well not at all really, but I still wish you good luck on that job search.

Happy Thanksgiving Blessings
And to you to...BTW I started a new job several weeks ago but still have about 100k or so invested in this industry, so while I no longer have to depend on the flower business to pay for my stuff it doesn't mean I've forgotten it.

A just have to wonder tho, how many FC regulars would happily do business with a local company that they *knew* was partnered with another company that was on a regular basis breaking federal law? Wouldn't you be afraid of guilt by association? Why is this different?

Because to be honest if that is the general character of the FC members, I am pretty sure that I would not want to have anything to do with them...call me "unsophisticated" or "simplistic" (as one of you did), but I'll call it principled and loaded with a word I guess many of you TF members are lacking.

Integrity.

I "do business" with and support the US Government too - how is that different? They seem to be the only game in town. And I really don't like what they spend my money on. But I digress.....

How's the view from up there?

We're just a bunch of dishonest criminals down here in flowerchat land, since somebody who uses the same vendor that we do is deceptive.::BS

Haven't you ever heard that if you lay down with dogs you get fleas?

What you be hanging with us flea ridden Teleflora members for then? You're not having much success in showing us the way out of the wilderness, Moses. :dunno:

Mark, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but I'm guessing your sh*t stinks too. And the other bad but oh so obvious question that doesn't need an answer - if you were successful in the floral industry like many of us here are - why did you quit?

I wish you well in your new job - I hope you find more of what you call integrity there than we lowlifes here have.

*sigh*

There's more than one FC member who's left F/T employment at a shop for a better paying job. I wager to say a bunch more would too if we had the skills and opportunity.

Way back earlier in this thread knife's wife said
Have you called TF about this and do you have a problem with me copy this, distributing locally to fellow TF florist and sending with a letter to TF as yet another example of why we get closer and closer to cutting all ties?
Emphasis mine. Closer and closer go we, too.

But....12bucks you're losing your argument by impugning the integrity of every TF shop owner. We use the network to send honestly sold orders and fill likewise. No need to insult us.

I sent an e-mail to Rick Davis and my old rep that has a new position there now.
I think calling would go nowhere. Any suggestions to anybody else I should send it to?
Yes print, copy and paste all you like.

I write to them almost every month whenever I found a fake florist showing up in Google search in our town. They so far haven't done anything, but if enough of us complained about the same company (11flowers.com/flowershopping.com), it might work. Another consistent dOG is 'BlossomFlorists.com' by KAYA enterprise in Bellaire, TX.

One more thing you could do is to make a page like this one. Eventually what heppens is that, when someone looks for "Florist in San Clemente, CA" and click on "Flowers & Balloons" which owns 11.flowers.com, our web site shows up in their description. Try that. A little revenge. A blog entry will work even better.

Goldfish - that is brilliant!!! I mean it, brilliant!

Great job!

How do we know that David? Could it be they just chose to shop in a more convenient store with higher prices?

I'm not justifying this, it's just that the task is for us to figure out where the target is and position ourselves there.

The target I see is they are pretending to be a local florist. Search below today 11-24-2006
