....the system is a dinousaur and ftd has not reinvested in it to todays standards



....what they tell me is if we are signed up to get a "slimcast" that there is NO WAY TO OPT OUT of receiving all their other JUNK :soapbox:

?anyone else try to get out of receiving "ftd junk mail" and succeed?
but stay on the list for so-called important ftd info?
 
We got our 2 flowers after hours orders at 3:00. FTD will be paying for an upgrade to keep their customers happy. When the people called me about their order, I gave them a gentle and friendly "call direct" commercial.

I don't follow. I thought Flowers after hours where your customers orders.

They are. However, they send the orders to us in the morning over the Merc. I guess that part was down.

I really view the unreliability of their system as a big deal. Obviously they don't or they would get a new IT guy.

I agree. There was a delay in getting our web orders today. As far as flowers after house is concerned they need to add a web portal as back up.
 
They wouldn't be able to send a slimcast with Merc Down, but they could send out an email blast. Anyone on Merc Direct has to have internet access to use the service.

I'm sorry, I should have worded this differently. I meant to say, after it was over and back up...send a slimcast with what the problem was.
But I guess that would mean admitting there was a problem on there end?.?.?.
 
I plan on contacting my rep regarding this. After the valentine's day mess Jim Weedon told me this would never happen again - low & behold, I too was down all day yesterday. I am requesting some form of compensation for loss of use.

Come on Stacy. Do you really expect the honest and open truth? Actually, do you really think that the rep knows the real story?
 
Bigted, No, I don't expect the truth, especially from FTD. I didn't believe them then and I can't wait to hear the excuse this time. Maybe the system was down because they crossed their 1st quarter earnings with the merc system and lost both!:tongue:

morning test for mercury

For those of you who do want to test your merc when you open and you submit 90-5034AA, I forgot to tell you that under text, don't type in test each time or believe it or not, it will be rejected as a duplicate!!! So I enter words such as
hello, stupid, dumb, eek, laugh, etc., whatever comes to mind.
If it's too quiet, better check the portal as well!

FTD says to do what they already know won't work

I like it when I get a recorded call that tells me FTD can't reach me and to check to make sure my Merc is on-line. Then send a test message. I do and it doesn't go. I reboot. I send it again and it doesn't go. I call FTD and they say, "Oh, yeah. We know. We're down right now." So...why did I get the call? I'm busy creating flower arrangements!!!
