We have had similar experiences with the Blumebox. The one product that I really liked was the Blumebud. We used these for placecards at an event last spring. Great add-on sale!

as far as cheaper containers go... yes I do support my local wholesalers for most things, but I have been using Dollar Tree Direct for some of my clear glass vases. The only thing is the styles are limited and what you want is not always in stock.
You are so right about things not always being in stock. The good news is we have just launched our new website and call center and hope to be managing the inventory a lot better. I also have a promotion code that saves you some money by waiving the handling fee. Pomo Code: STRETCH. If you have any issues with the promo code just let me know.

Suggestions? Feedback? Is this something you can use to complete with drop-shippers?

As I said earlier - I think I am the ONLY one to comment on these as great alternatives to cash and carry, dropship, loose bunch choices......Interestingly, I havent heard Goldie or JB weigh in with their observations

I did it with green dots and thumbs uppers.

Heather -

You can use a small waste basket sized liner on the outside of the box - to keep it from getting dirty during delivery. Or - the box could be packaged just like you would a vase, with cellophane, since so many Eastern US shops wrap their arrangements.

They're no more difficult to handle than classic cardboard rose boxes.

Both Heather & I (and several others) belong to delivery pools. All the pools require that the package be wrapped completely.

The package is handled at least 4 times in route to the customer.

the challenge is getting it to the customer in great shape. That is why, so far, we have not used them for everyday design.

We have used them for wedding bouquet deliveries, and for party type deliveries that we do ourselves....where we can directly control how we handle said package.

Yes, I think this could compete with a drop shipper design.
No, I do not think it is practical, as a vessel for delivery of flowers, in most low priced everday situations.

beautiful picture, and product.

Delivery pools require that you understand that every package is not going to be handled exclusively by "your" driver and will not probably be handled "exactly" in the same manner as you have trained your driver to handle the package.

The pool driver may not realize that this is a cardboard vessel, and that even a little tipping and spillage can cause damage to the product.

Delivery pools have their very, very good points.
But not all delivery pool drivers are created "equal". :) In our pool, upwards of 50 different pairs of hands could handle your package.

In our pool, your very pretty box vase would get wrapped in cello, or paper, and then placed in a corrugated vased packer box, to lend support to the arrangement during transport. The possibility of water collecting in the bottom of the packer or inside the cello (if the package is tipped at all) is very, very real. It would then damage the box, which in this case IS the product.

Since the volume of packages at Mother's Day is always HUGE. we try our best to minimize damage and complaints from the get-go.

We are going to try some blumeboxes next week, during easter, for a live "pool test". Will keep you posted on how they survive.

thanks again for all you do.

Cheryl

I finally got the images finished. One was cleaned up and the other re-shot & renamed.

Sweet Wildflowers Bouquet

Sweet-Wildflowers.jpg

Description: Remember when you’d go and pick a bunch of flowers for Mom from the neighbor’s yard? ;) Well, this hand-tied garden bouquet - featuring super fresh California blooms - will send Mom your love and a sweet memory of that first bouquet. Your pastel gift arrives in an eco-friendly Robin’s Egg Blue Blumebox and is tied with sheer pink ribbons.

I am granting FC members permission to use these for free on their local florist sites for the holiday. The images are 300 X 300 with a thumbnail at 140 X 160.

Email me at [email protected] and let me know which size(s) of which image(s) you need and I'll send you web-ready versions in a reply.

I know this is a bit late and hopefully most everyone has already determined their product mixes for M Day, but if you're looking to add a couple low-priced, low labor items, they could work. :)

I'm curious if the the price you listed for gerbera is a price you got for buying in volumn or is this your normal weekly price?

We have tried gerbera over the years from several places. The only good gerbera we have found come out of Canada and they run $1.10-1.25 per stem, and mini gerbs run even more.

Thanks for the offer to share the pics. The are very lovely arrangements!

We use these boxes all the time, i have the liners but i tend to use cellophane to keep it waterproof.

We also arrange in foam out of them like this.

Kristine, i have used those vases, i seen them at a trade show, i thought they were great but i found they were not so versitile (sp) and would not hold that many stems. They were also hard to stand up, took a while to sort.
