Is that a C999 vase?

Stem breakdown per design? Are they one sided with all the stems in the front like a wire service design ;)

The vase and price are good for this area. I rarely carry the dendros, they just havn't been that nice and are $1.29 a stem. Also - if that is beronia - no longer available here.

I could, and would. Jenifer is correct though about the beronia, coming out of availablity here.

IMO it's a mistake to sell by picture for out of your own delivery area. I always sell by general description. It's always hard to know what any florist will have on any given day. Lately, product availablity has been so bad around here I can't even say what I will have on any given day, much less what some other shop will have. Last we and this week spray roses are hard to get for Proms. Very unpredictable supply chain at the moment to be attempting this. Good luck!

Most florists will be able to do a reasonable facsimile of each arrangement, most all carry the c999...The first one with the iris and liuly is pretty on target for price the baronia is a problem for all but 3 weeks out of the year here. Lizzy anthus is running 4 bucka a stem retail and sometimes it is whimpy stems only one flowr and bud per...dendros are running 4 bucks a stem here also...not sure how much cheaper your lovely CA grown flowers are but here they are crazy expensive..rice flower is not something that most florists carry on a regular basis and it stinks(not sure why anyone would use it at all). All that being said, they are pretty and the design is pretty easy to copy, if you couldn't copy those you really shouldn't be a florist, but we all know how that story goes...

Maybe before you go nationwide you should get some price comparisons from the midwest shops, and myself and adam(he being so close to nyc, I bet he pays a pretty penny for his flowers) and a southern shop or two and figure out a good price for all with in a few bucks...I am thinking that this is one very good reason why many of the flowers used in the TF book are from SA or Holland, they generally cost everyone the same amount, easier to make a general price for all to follow..

ditto on the baronia... and we rarely have dendrobs (nor the variegated lisi) but this is small town and rare for you to send to my area.

I'd like to see a recipe; I'm counting at least 15 stems for flowers that retail between $3.50 and $4.00 per stem here in Toronto, excluding the vase.

I'll start with the English garden
ed67.jpg

1 orange tiger lily
2 iris
5 assorted color roses
1 yellow button
2 alstromeria
4 stems solidaster
1 seafoam statice
1 misty blue
3 boronia or 3 wax flower
1 rice flower 2 queen annes
4 lemon
3 leather
1 myrtle
2 baby blue ecualyptus
1 seeded ecualyptus or 1 gunni ecualyptus
1 pittosporum
1 c999 vase

That one prices out to 75 in my shop with all those fancy greens...they price out just like flowers...

Eric, that one would be $75.00++ here...

One issue, you're in Cali... Baronia is done here, Queen Annes has not been seen since before MD, Seafoam not, and Solid Aster (Solidego) is $3.50/stem or more... 2 stems of Alstro here is $7.00... Canadian, beautiful, but pricey...

We have sent a few of these over the past few months with some great feed back from the filling shops. Usually we reference our website letting them know the product URL or the product code. This way not only do they see the image but they also see the price and delivery which they receive and can feel better knowing that they are getting the full amount.

Our teleflora rep came into our shop not to long ago and after talking with her about our decline in sending orders I explained that most of our customers want to send our products and not the TF products. I pointed out many problems with containers and flower availability but then I realized that what’s the difference between sending a TF product versus a everyday flowers product?

They both have the same problems with availability so why not send ours instead of theirs?

Eric, call me dumb (you won't be the first) but I don't get what this means. Will these products be featured on Teleflora dot com and on the websites of the 15,000 shops teleflora websites? If not, how will the receiving shop know what to make?

You know ted thats a good idea. I could start calling other shops and see if they are intrested in featureing a few of our designs on their website. Or better yet perhaps I should see if Teleflora would be intrested in purchasing a few of our designs.

Wow $92.00

Don't take this the wrong way because I totally understand your price and why it is.

This is definitely the reason why consumers are being sucked over to proflowers and other sources for gifts.

We just can't come up with an affordable product anymore.

Eric,
I totally agree. I can't understand the wholesale prices in Toronto, considering that most of my flowers are grown in Stoney Creek which is a 2 hour drive from my shop. I guess we need to find a way to eliminate the middleman!
Emily (well, I don't, since I'm closing but you get my drift !)
