i t took 61 years for the cards to beat the eagles (circa 1948) in the NFC(L) championship.

As a kid growing up in the 60's and 70's, the neighborhood kids always talked football in the fall (for those of you in my age bracket, you will remember the old Ford's PPK competition.)

It was the "wonder years". Baseball in the summer and football in the fall.

In 1987, Bill Bidwell moved the Big Red to AZ. Prior to that the team lived in StL from 1960-1987. We suffered through horrible seasons, sans 1974-1975.

In many respects, the Big Red is still a large part of sTL.

today's game was great.

Go Cardinals!
My husband was raised in Pennsylvania and actually went to the University of Missouri to be closer to the Cardinals!(Football and Baseball). Cardinals are Cardinals even though they are in Arizona!
I live in Chiefs territory--great to have Big Red to cheer about this year.
 
All of my appendages are still thawing out, but I was at the Steeler/ Raven game tonight. One of the best nights of my life. The energy here is amazing.

The Cardinals/ Steelers should be a very interesting match up because of Wisenhunt. He was a former offensive coach for the Steelers and he was one of the top contenders for the Head Coach job when Cowher left. He knows a little too much about the Steelers for comfort.

Still... we need a ring for the other hand now....

Yup - a great 3rd quarter - too bad the Iggles didn't show up for the FIRST HALF! Eee-gads was that bad. Silly me, ha-ha -... I thought they actually HAD a chance to win! When will I ever learn...

I will content that only the 2nd half was a "good game" as that's when the REAL Iggles showed up. They are a much better team than what played in the first... Coaches, players - everyone.

Hey - when Akers misses an extra point, you KNOW today's not your day! (19 in a row is not too, too bad...) I got a good chuckle when perenial Eagles Broadcaster Merle Reese called out after the failed pt after attempt, "What happened?"

At least we have one PA team in the Duper Bowl! Go Steelers!

well done steelers. Alway had a spot for the steelers dating back to the Lynn Swan era. Like that rothenberger guy. Can they fit any more letters on the back of his jersey??
