Nice Balloon's for 3 year old's Birthday!

I looked again at the picture in full page view and then used 150% zoom on it.

I agree with Ricky these folks need some serious schoolin' on how to present balloons.

I do see that the yellow zip tie looking thing is a cardette, which is completly out of place in a balloon bouquet. That's just bizarre!
I also see a stick. Another issue I see is that the curling ribbon is tied on under the fill port. We would never do that here.
We always tie above the air fill port of the balloon. If not you chance losing air from a faulty sticky sealing part inside the neck of the mylar balloon.

The two mylar are helium filled, however the latex are hanging in an odd position. Could be from helium shrinkage as the ends of the latex balloons have that, if I dare say it, dark areola (sorry) look which indicates helium shrinkage. Sorry again as areola and shrinkage probably should not be used in the same sentence. My bad. LOL

Best to all!

Don't be too sure of what florists won't do in order to save a buck...I have worked for many a florist with many below the board tricks and techniques for saving their cogs....scotch tape patches, marks alot personalization, tack 2000 to hold together delph, gerberas, fugis etc....scraping mold off stems to use in funeral work...reusing flowers from weekly accounts in funeral work getting paid twice for them...reusing moldy foam...buying funeral items from grave robbers...

Sorry- But tieing BELOW the fill port is the PROPER way to tie mylar balloons. If You tie above you actually weaken the valve. Kinda like when you blow up a beach ball and bite it with your teeth to let air in or out- same concept.

I still think it's a horrible job and that filling florist doesn't have a clue about putting together an attractive balloon bouquet for a child or good customer service.
WHO CARES IF IT"S TO VALUE... The recipeint thought it looked like crap and will TELL EVERYBDOY what crappy work they do. This florist could have been the hero or the villan and they chose to be the villan. The could have offered to take a new balloon bouquet in the girrls favorite colors, offered to give the recipients a new balloon bouquet for in the future, offered to DO SOMETHING.

I got a complaint right before Valentines day. The order came from another FCer. Order called for mascline funeral arrangement. OK
I always do my funeral arrangement in black containers. I used a lot of yellow gerbs and I can't remember what else.. Anyway, The family thought it was aweful and said it had a few orange flowers and looked Halloweenish. OK, did I challenge them- nope. I chose to be the hero- no questions asked. I made a spring arrangement in a white basket appropriate for the home. I rarely get complaints. I have no problem fixing the issue for not only my customers but my recipients as well.

It's been my experience that a florist who refuses to fix a problem is so used to getting complaints that they just don't care.
EVEN if I don't think I did anything wrong- I do my best to make the customer happy.

Just because someone complains doesn't mean you lost a customer for life. For instance.... I have a new customer, we'll call her Jan. Jan came into the shop before Christmas and bought a bear. I sold her the bear- I rang her up she left with the bear. a $25 bear. She calls me the next week saying the "stiching had came out." hummmm. OK
Without hesitation I said "no problem, just bring it back and you can exchange it or I can keep a credit for you on file." Not "What did you do to the bear?" Just No problem

Well Jan has become one of my biggest fans. She orders and orders often, and she spends money.

Anyway- This is a great thread, it brought a lot of stuff up that we all should keep in mind. Our business, our industry will only survive with great products and GREAT customer service. For the floral business those two things go hand in hand.
