Prayers Please

Thank you for all the positive thoughts, suggestions, etc.

We have not heard yet whether the bat is rabid.

The bat entered a home through a tiny opening in an attic and then entered my daughters bedroom. According to the health dept. this causes more concern.

Our vet has nothing to do what is happening right now. There is rabies in our area, if a bat gets in you are ask to bring it to the health dept. for testing. This is what my daughter did.

Exposure to rabies requires 6 months of quarantine because it can take that long to develop.

There is no wheeling and dealing or negotiating with the NY State Health Dept. Up to date vaccination or the seize the animal. At which point we can pay dearly to begin treatments and 6mo of quarantine or put him down.

Thank you for the prayers, I will update as soon as I know something.

Well today we finally got the news on the Bat. Thank the Lord that he is Not Rabid.

Thank you to everyone that read this post and had us in your thoughts and/or prayers.

She has certainly learned a good lesson about keeping up with shots.

The state of NY is pretty strict, as rabies runs rampant in this area.

Joan, thank you for sharing this wonderful, happy news. Has your daughter been able to take her kitty home now? Imagine the strong bond these two will now have. Hugs and kisses to you, Alana and kitty.

My daughter is Alana... and her kitty catches bats too. ;)

Joan's daughter is Ariel (I'm sorry if I don't spell it correctly). And yay, no rabies. :)
