Cheryl:

There's more where that came from, my email box is full of these surveys. I don't even open most of them.

If we can take a positive from this, at least they're asking.

My survey was for an incredibly unattractive square container in flat black to resemble a chalkboard, with I (heart) Mom written on it with psuedo-chalk. TF asked me to only consider the floral designs, and not the container. Of the 5 designs, only one was even remotely attractive. Most were dreary, and one was plain-old butt-ugly. WTH are they thinking?

BTW, this is the Secretary's Week codified container for 2010...

it's in the newest resource guide.

TF puts a lot of focus on novelty containers. People don't want them. They end up at Goodwill and Yardsales. Look at the success of places like IKEA, simple clean design. If "its about the flowers silly" why is TF obsessed with novelty containers that are cheaply made and overpriced?

To add to Chezzies statement, If you really stop and look at the majority of the WS holiday specials......without flowers - they can fit with room to spare in a 10 inch box. Even with flowers, they don't hardly top the 14 inch height.

I wonder how much the shipping is on those 2010 MD containers, they look heavy. Add that to the price of the arrangement...

I'm also in a pet biz now, and my company uses UPS and has a great deal w/them and does not rip off the customer. Ex: a customer of mine bought a 40 lb bag of food, 48 cans of food and some treats, shipping was 7.75!
Yes, seven dollars seventy five cents! IMO, the w/s make a nice little chunk on the shipping they charge...

I'm not a wire service shop for many reasons...one of them being those ugly containers they try and muscle over on you that are ridiculously priced.
I have hand painted glassware that I do and carry in my store, much nicer than what they have pictured. Most people pick out their own vases and have me fill them.
Im very happy with what I chose for my spring collection.
I can't tell you how very disappointed we were at the old shop I work at one Mothers Day with a Teleflora handpainted rose vase. The advertised photo looked really significant and when we received the vase it was 4" high and UGLY.
We could have never sold it in our area for TF's suggested retail price.

my survey yesterday specifically asked about the bouquet in the container, NOT the container. The survey only had the kincaide resin house, and striped pitcher (similar to the one above, but slightly different). Each container had 4 different style/color arrangements - the survery was not about the container.

The final question was to pick my favorite bouquet in each container, then the favorite between those two.

I agree with this, but don't a lot of gifts end up at Goodwill? What looks to be a good idea for a gift usually isn't. "Grandma will love this gift! After the flowers die, she can use this keepsake recipe box to keep all her recipes in." Um, yeah right.

I was constantly getting these surveys until the last one which had the first question of: From the following holidays which ones will you be purchasing containers from Tf?

Since I choose none, the next message was: thank you very much but your further input is not required.

haven't seen another survey since. :)
