Cathy, no, there is nothing with this "update" other than the 20 pages...no wholesale costs, but one thing I noticed, they break down the greens by 1/2, 1/3 or similar...

One design in an urn with 46 stems of roses and 3... 1/2 bunches of various greens only allows for 50% of a block of floral foam...I don't think it'll hold it...sure, for the picture maybe, but let's see them deliver it without breaking it up...

And Randy, I knew you could come up with a solution, so could I. But I wonder if it would fly with the online consumer that did not read the substitution fine print. Also, your still getting boxwood??? by the 20# wax box? Where?

TIA

Mark,

Rarely ever do we have a problem with an incoming wire order regarding substitutions, probably do to the value we're willing to provide for the dollar.

It's California boxwood, and comes by the bunch much like myrtle.

Back to the wire issue, I don't know why, but we seldom get those design book incoming wire orders. The few orders we get are generally open, such as funeral arrangement for $75.

My price inc labor is $281.45....

Wire Service price is $174.99 (for which you get paid $122.49, less membership etc)

Sorry for the "Delayed Response" (tee-hee)

This would go for $300 in our shop.
Do a price change for the WS order, or cancel...

Don't play the recipe game.

If they give you a dollar amount and a picture, fill it to the dollar value, not the recipe value.

I would have done just about the same as Randy. Subbed out the Chrysanthemums with Carnations.

this isn't your Grandpa's WS/flower shop anymore. ;)

FTD and 800 changed the rules - their rules - while expecting us to abide by the old association rules.

HOGWASH!

Kudos to Joe, and Randy !

While I too agree with Randy and Joe, the substitution thing raises the issue of the consumers expectations.

Yes, one could send a message stating "this is what we'll do" or cancel, but how many times does the operator in India simply reply OK without contacting the consumer, and then the consumer sees what was sent and was expected standard mums, and got carnations?

Point is, WS SRP's are TOO LOW!

I come up with $282.40 everything in, however, in such a case, all we would do is send an "ask" back saying we would need to substitute substantially...you should hear them "trying" to spit THAT out when they call back...gives us a good giggle
