Profit From Outgoing

I am no expert.. but if you have $21K in out going.. $600 seems like a waste of time effort and resources.

I use Floral Source to wire out orders.. (It's pretty cheap) Wire out of orders is a SERVICE I provide for my good customers - to keep them happy! I do not expect any profit from this... other than a VERY loyal customer base.

I do not do it to make money... I do it to please customers. I do not charge a fee for any wire out.

Your numbers are much higher than mine as my wire outs are at about $7800 for the year... profits at around $300.00 - That stills seems like a really low amount for the work.. but again - I do it for the customer service aspect.. not for profit.

I forgot rebates.. $3 each order... so add another $500 or so...

The fees will just continue to rise and the $600 profit will be less.

I'd probably dump the w/s and look into a new line to generate more than $600 -- or one that would give me less work, paperwork, hassle, etc.

Candles? Jewelry? Chocolate/candy? New line of plush? Lotta gourmet items out there? How 'bout gifts for people's pets, pet baskets, pet bereavement gifts? Spring flower bulb planters that you force open now for a winter pick me up? There are probably loads of ideas that would produce more profit, and be more fun that dealing with a w/s, methinks.

Do you guys factor in the labor it takes to consult customers and enter information on outgoing? Or is that number irrelevant? Not mentioning decreased production time.

Don't even get me started with that one. Exspecially when you have to call the order out because the filling shop doesn't have a dove.

Or the directory update says $10 for delivery and they call you back and say it $20.

I just want some more leverage to say enough is enough with the TF fees. Give me a way to to make some of that 20% instead of giving it all back in tech and fees.
