Love the lights!

Wow kerrlynne! You are going to be so busy that weekend! I love the spray lights, we used them on a few rare occasions, formals, weddings (all white lights), etc. They are a creative addition, and of course a big seller with the kiddies who love that "bling bling" effect:) After we sold the shop, I did get one more catalog from a light supplier, but I can't think of who it was. Where do you get yours at, do you have a good resource?

PS: BOSS- I love your corsages, especially the "tropicana"! I can see why it is so popular! Beautiful!

I see a movement into the "bling" "bling" side of the designs today.
fiberoptic lights, strobing lights, gold teeth......

Now if only someone could come up with some miniture charm like rims like P-diddy has on his ride, we just might have something!

The pics are great! I too dread "the mother" who manages to make the easiest thing difficult. In years past I had someone who specialized in body flowers- this year I finally took a couple of classes so I will able to be more hands on - It truly is an art making an arrangment in such a small space.
Mark - noticed a small typo in your "catagories" Get well and FEEL better.
can't believe the queen of typos=me would catch that.

Corsage add ons...

Debie on my staff came up wioth these CorRings...presented here for your comments...

We're thinking these could be sold as add on's made to match the corsage ordered....

Wow very cool! What kind of Base did she use?

It's "designer Wire", the wire you see in the photo, we have it in 6 colors, very flexible...

Put together with Oasis glue, right onto the wire.

Mark, love them. Are they fairly sturdy?

Those CorRings are so neat! Our shop mostly just did wrist & pin ons. I have recently heard of some florists doing the upper arm corsages as well. I thought they were pretty neat. They are just like the wrist corsage but go on the upper arm for sleeveless dresses. Anyone here seen a demand for these?

Mark -

Great looks! Kudos to your designer. She can take that same wire and make bracelets, armbands and chokers and apply the same technique. Looks very contemporary.

Here are a couple prom images I have. The one on the girl's back is created by using a fabric bandaid and attaching the flowers with Oasis glue (not!!! hot glue). The choker is made on a satin ribbon and the 'danglers' are composed of liatris florettes threaded on monofilament. I love prom flowers (except on Mother's Day weekend.)

Those are not FLORIST HANDS are they?knifes wife

P.S. Mark they are great, where does one find that type of wire and what gauge is it?

Well... they are Heathers hands....mainly sales but she also works in helping to process incoming product, plant care and stocking....

Wire is VERY flexible, about 1/8th inch think, we get it from a local wholesaler...

Thanks Cathy....

Speaking of "band-aids"... we are also working with the "Band-Aid" wrap stuff that sticks to itself instead of wrist-lets... only problem so far is it's a one time stick thing....put it on and DON'T mess with it...

Went to a flower wedding show on the weekend and one of the things that Smithers Oasis was showing was the new aluminum wire in lots of wild colours ...... and they were showing how to make the rings, wristlets etc. Cool stuff and fun to use .... and it doesn't rust so you can use under water. Your imagination is the only limit.

We've used that wire in wedding work also. Gives a great look to a hand tied bouquet. More and more of our brides do not want ribbon. I also attended a wedding workshop last week and the presenter made a cage of the copper colored wire, and he inserted Konfetti roses and hot pink wax flower into the structure to creat the hand tied bouquet. It was gorgeous!

Go figure...

Well, I must admit, I never expected to sell Prom Flowers off the web... but we are... kids tell us they love to shop online and at least look things over...

We made up a flyer and took it to many of the Tanning places in town, and after only a couple days we are seeing a good response...we made an offer of 10% off when they buy BOTH a corsage and bout... and order either online or on specific dates, wanting to get them to avoid Mothers Week...

Even Verzion wants to help find everything you need for Prom Night, Except a Date...At least they are promoting "local florists" until you get to all the ads on their superpages...

When it comes to flowers for prom, the two most popular styles are wrist corsages and hand-held nosegays. The Society of American Florists says this year?s hottest flowers include sweetheart roses, dendrobium orchids, alstroemeria lilies and other small blooms such as cornflowers and freesia. Order your corsage or boutonnière in advance by contacting a local florist, where experts can even match your bouquet to your date?s dress or tie color.
