Rebranding & Repricing to attack OGs

"Floral Order Broker" gets my vote for OG.

Bill, I have a couple questions about the website pricing:

Are the prices on the products on your site the same as what a customer would pay if he/she walked in your store for carry-out?

Are you concerned your regular customers will be dissuaded from ordering online because the prices listed there are higher than those found in your shop?

FYI, you might want to read the FTC guidelines with respect to discounted sales. Fully realizing there are a lot of dOGs who deceptively list higher prices to make markdowns look 'legit', my reading of the guidelines says it is not a legal practice - for several reasons.

I am all for florists rebranding, BTW. :) Selling products unique-to-you can definitely make that branding easier.

Getting Close.
Maybe... "Floral Marketing Middleman."

But I have no problem getting "in your face" and "Predatory Floral Marketer" gets the point across. It SEEMS to work on our site. IF 40% to 50% of the customer's money going to fees and commissions isn't Predatory, then I don't know what is!

To our greatest ability, we maintain parity between in-store and website list prices. In the rare case when a customer wants a 20% discount over the fone or walk-in, we explain that, "It often takes a skilled floral professional 10 to 15 minutes (or more) to explain product characteristics and process a person to person order. A website order takes an order processing clerk about 3 minutes to complete. Time is money."

Ah BILL, you're BRILLIANT!

You're a THINKER, like many others on FC, which is why, FC is so great!

Back in the day, FTDA and when it was member owned and operated, had the proud distinction that, the VERY BEST IDEAS for FTDA came from the very member/owners of FTDA, REAL FLORISTS, aka: THE FAMILY.

And back then, I coined the phrase 800-FLORAL-TELE-BUCCANEERS before the Internet. I called it such since, PIRATES would simply STEAL YOUR STUFF while BUCCANEERS would also steal your stuff too, but they had the permission of someone else to DOO IT! (such as some King on a throne out in Westbury)

After the Internet, I've had a fancy for MIDDLEMAN FLORAL ORDER GATHERERS, a term that, most of us REAL FLORISTS would understand.

As to DA CONSUMERS?

Well just maybe, MIDDLEMAN FLORAL ORDER BROKERS (MFOB) as compared to REAL FLORIST DELIVERY DIRECT (RFDD) might be a consideration?

It's a work in progress, but let's all continue to put our heads together, agree on a common REAL FLORIST consumer marketing term, and run with it!

How about 3rd party order gatherer or 3rd party virtual order gatherer. I always hate when something has a 3rd party because you know there's a middleman. And virtual suggests they don't have a storefront.

How about rump rangers?
