Ridiculous TF HQ orders

We got a call from a customer asking us to price out an arrangement they saw on ftd.com
4 white lilies
6 red roses
holiday greens in a footed vase.
We received an email a couple days ago asking if we would match the price on an FTD.com $19.95 item for local Anaheim delivery. I went to look at the selection but FTD had removed it from the catalog. I believe it was one of those rose & alstroe bouquets.

Responded and told the guy FTD.com was no longer offering it so we couldn't see it, and asked if he had another item. No response so far.

As we see time & time again, customers do not realize the products are DIY and look nothing like the photo when they arrive. We are losing a battle on price because consumers are comparing apples to prunes.

Maybe it's time to resurect or update for christmas the posting & picture from Florist Detective that show the
"is this what you ordered & Is this what you got??" pictures and story & pricing...

Just a suggestion....might help

Wow. How many FTD shops were there 5 years ago? Are those shops still in business and using another WS or are they out of business entirely?
Was 3 FTD, but now only me I guess...still no word from FTD LOL

The other 5 shops in town are ALL TF...LOL... not much in the way of support there is there...
 
The cp as pictured sells for $70. I'll be making cp's anyway & I'll be delivering nearby anyway, I'll have product anyway. If I can keep product moving through the door & make something on it I'll do it. Especially in this economic environment. Everytime I send something to a recipient it's advertising. If my trucks are running people see them. Those are potential clients. I may be making a few bucks less on an order, but I may gain a new account. Maybe not.

Most of my products have products have a much better margin. I just don't see the point in not filling an order that works for you. I agree the WS orders don't work for everyone, but they do work for some of us.

Make no mistake, I realize 2 days before the holiday it is a cluster#@% and there are a good share of orders that are un-fillable for the $.

We have hundreds of cp's greened up ready to go. At this point it takes about 4-5 minutes to complete them. It works for me.

Best of luck to everyone making it however you do it. It's a jungle out there.

I got one of those on the fone yesterday asking if I could do a $19.95 centerpiece.

I told her I like to be very honest with my customers and that anything in that price point is bound to be more of an embarassment to the sender than anything else.

She seemed to understand, but still didn't place an order - maybe she called them.
 
whenever I get any order from TFHQ by phone or by dove, I always REFUSE & ABUSE them! I let them know about it, and theyre sorry they ever called me!

Then I get same call from different operator 2 hours later, LOL, and I do the same
REFUSE & ABUSE....it helps me vent :musical:

I know, I can be mean sometimes....

I'm wanting more information about thie "abuse" part. What do you say? Yes, I'm nosey! lol
 
A customer called me today and asked why his flowers were not delivered last Sat....he said he ordered on TF.com and picked us as the filling florist ( I did not know TF gave you that option)....

BUT-

it was "All is Bright" 3 candle long centerpiece for $50 total!

I explained to customer that I refused that order instantly, since TF did not get correct amount.... I also explained to him to always use a local florist & never use TF,FTD,1-800,PRoflowers, etc....

Anyway, TF dropped the ball & never re-sent it to another filling florist, and this guy got screwed!

I told him to call them asap and cancel order and get refund!

PS- he called me back 30 minutes later and asked if he could place order direct with me.... I said of course :)

I am so tired of TF, and their BS, I dropped them in July, yet they gave me 6 free months on a new membership deal & I took them up on it...BUT it's not worth it, even for free membership, its nothing but hassle refusing low ball orders & my minimum is set at $60! They don't read the minimums though, it's obvious!

I'm just happy I converted another flower buying customer to use real florists!

It really is a shame that they suck people in with their discounts and misleading info, take their money and then screw customer & filling florists over!

Could we deliver a fresh arrangement with fresh lavender and Mokara
orchids for $42.00 total, and today would be best.
We are not even Teleflora!
There is a Teleflora shop in our town. They must of said no. ya think?
Are they smokin crack there in Teleflora la la land?
Dang, I knew I should of got some fresh, out of season lavender when
I was at the market!

I can count on my hands how many TF HQTS orders I have had in two years...........2...........yep! They have a dumb receiver here who will take anything and I know they probably don't know what a Mokara orchid is. Email goes tomorrow to my rep...done...as of Dec 24th never mind Dec 31st. All my TF friends will know to call me direct ~ hopefully ~ if they want quality
