I have a Main Coon kitten (1yr old) named Solomon and I was stripping wallpaper from my bathroom one night and looked over to see him licking at the area I had sprayed and was pulling it off with his teeth. The bad thing was that the cat was getting off larger sections of paper then I was.

Feline saliva = excellent wallpaper stripper! LOL :cat:

Beth :~)

Not smart but nice.

I have started playing the piano again and sometimes I will look down at my feet and all three dogs are curled around my feet and the bench.

Doug,

I've always known that you exude animal magnetism! Meoooow!:cat:

Smart, schmart

I had my first weekend off since who knows when in November. I planned to use the time to do some book keeping work for a Lodge that I belong to, the Treasurer has fallen hopelessly behind. I spread all the work out on the Dining room table and hunkered down to get 'er done.

I was up and down all weekend, let two dogs out, let one back in, then the third wants out.

Up down, open the door.

One is at this door, one is at the other door. All three out one in, two still out. I have Tennis elbow from opening the sliding door so much.

I felt like a Door Man as some Doggie Day Care.

Like I said I am well trained.

Doug - my cat has turned into a demanding prick making me get out of bed every night at 4AM to let him outside, then waking me back up a half hour later to let him back in.

I'm too cheap to spend $150 on a cat door, so I suffer like this....

Yup I'm well trained too, but I can still gripe about it

Florists love animals...

Funny how so many of us are pet owners, I have 3 cats, that bring amusement and love every evening when I get home. Bones likes to get in the shower every evening, and loves to gnaw on corn on the cob after dinner. Scratch can open doors, we have old fashioned latches, and the one door that doesn't have one, she can squeeze herself under the door to get out, the third Peanut, is the climber, I came in one day and she was sitting on top of the ceiling fan blade, and no, I didn't turn it out, although.......

My dearly departed George (cat, last February), loved, loved loved to flush toilets and watch the water swirl into the great beyond. We had four bathrooms... George had a party. I hated to put an end to the fun but the water bills demanded drastic action. I still miss George... and the swirly water fun.

Elmo runs my world now (he is strictly an indoor cat now). He and George arrived at my door together about 15 years ago... they knew they had a live one on the hook. They were right.

I would love a dog, but because Elmo demands total domination over his domain I must satisfy myself with my doggie sitting and dog walking business. I have many dogs and have discovered the wonder of the doggie door. Me like very very much. ;)

I pretty much don't trust anyone who doesn't like animals. I don't care if they walk, run or slither... all creatures great and small.

So true. I also can't trust anyone that my cat won't approach. When I was living in Toronto I was dating a guy that I met at work and whenever he came over my cat would run and hide in the weirdest spots (behind the washer or in between both shower curtains). I stopped seeing this guy but we stayed friends and even to this day (8 years later) my cat still doesnt like him but i'm not quite sure why? Something 'bout his aura maybe...

Ah yes... the laser pointer... drove George to distraction, climbing walls and the like. But then he also loved to chase the shadow puppets on the walls too. I miss him.

Does anybody's cat/cats do this:

Simon (my supergroovy cat) will hide behind furniture and jump out at you with both arms wide open, but no claws. its really funny and sort of like being attacked by a stuffed animal.
He is wierd, but I love him.

George used to hide in the flowers around the veggie garden years ago... he would lie in wait and pounce with front arms wrapped around the ankles of the unsuspecting. Thank God my heart is strong... did I mention, I miss him.

For those of you who love catz.....the best cat toy I ever found was a laser pointer. You can shine it on the floor and the cat will chase it all day. It's also fun to make the red dot run under a closed door.

Try it.

some dumb labradors do it too
yep, love my dumb lab !

Oz, my Black Lab and Saint Bernard cross can be silly, but not "dumb"...he even likes fruit. He eats, Tangerines, Banana's and even grapes...and oddly enough, he eats the grape, but spits out the skin... go figure...

Ok, I meant both front legs wide open, and he has claws but does'nt use them when doing this odd thing of his. I swear I can hear him laughing just a little.
No you meant arms. The phrase "legs wide open" just leads to all kinds of bad mental pictures, even it it's cats.

I am a cat person (I love dogs like children, you know, other people's dogs/children - play with them, then send 'em home) but my kitty doesn't do anything exceptional except the fetch thing. She will throw her arms around my neck, for a face to face hug. My hubby was really disappointed to learn that we don't have the only fetching cat.

First, please forgive any typos that may slip by. This is my first time on a laptop keyboard... I feel like I have two left feet!

Anyway, Mark, our old neighbours had a black lab named Lady. She spent most of her time with us (so many stories to tell about this girl), but she preferred the crazy Dodge's I guess. She loved the food at our place and would lick her plate clean... unless there were peas involved. Without a word of a lie, she would eat everything on her plate, lick all the peas clean and leave them for the trash. :)

She loved my children and looked after them as though they were hers. I took her to the beach with us often. She would make sure the kids didn't go out to far for her liking. If she thought they were breaking her rules she would swim out and herd them in... allowing them to hang on to her tail. She was quite a girl and far from dumb. I would hazard a guess to say that she projected more smarts that many people I know.

V (where is that @@@@able mouse?!?!?!)
