snap on wristlets

Am I right in thinking these snap on wristlets are the stretchable 4 rows of pearls etc with the plastic disk and thin ribbon to tie on the corsage ?
Nearly everyone here is still wiring up the corsages and its a pain and so slow anyway .We would'nt have anything like the number of corsages either and no buttonholes for the men .I'm waiting for a consignment of really nice diamond stretchable bracelets and will do up a few samples glueing methods that were posted here .So thanks for all the sharing of info .

Iris Eyes... I think you are describing Fitz Bracelets. The snap ons are different - they are straight and then snap to the exact size of the wearer's wrist. The ones discussed here are by Oasis.

I think I have the idea .Anyone got a photo of these before dressing?I will give our w/saler a shout about them as we have'nt seen anything like that here yet.Sometimes Oasis bring out stuff in some countries and not in others where theres no demand ,maybe thats why we did'nt see them. Will let you know .Thanks

Teresa, pretty sure your UK neighbours have them.
IMO just cold glue.
Hot/med melt glue just contracts in the cooler and pops off, useless, cold glue is definitely the way to go. Cold glue also does not mark floral product /leaves etc. like hot glue does, so versatile.

On the glue thing. Someone (oasis?) should come up with a better dispensing idea rather than the tube.
The glue pan is far easier, faster and neater to work with than
the tube that ooozes everywhere and there is a big waste.

Dore,
The cold glue works best with material that is being placed in the cooler.
It's also best for the flowers.

To keep the glue from oozing, keep it upright while using. Meaning don't put it down on the table. I use a very small container to store the glue upright inbetween applications. I learned this from Sandi Sniff. She uses a small piece of dry foam to stick it in upright. Also, keep the glue from coagulating on the top. Wipe it clean often. I get about 10- 14 corsages from one tube of glue. That is less than .50 per. I done about 250 corsages so far this season and used about 16 tubes of glue - so I guess that's more than 10-14.

They used to have the adhensive in a can. That was awful. It would dry up about half way through. I got mad once and called Oasis to complain.
They told me it was "planned obsolesce". I didn't think it was funny.
But, I guess enough florists complained and they started seling it in tubes.

I also discovered last week, that when the tube cracks, just tape it with Oasis tape. Works. I love Oasis strapping tape!!!

I would have never been able to make 180 corsages last week withot the adhensive. Not one complaint. No one's corsage fell apart - at least that I know. Mom's have been stopping in since Monday, telling me how wonderful the corsages were. I had over 300 kids and moms in my shop last weekend.

I put the tube in a low vase and it stands upright great.
I wipe often, but, still thinks its a big mess. I bet the days of
the can glue were awful !
I still have a couple of fingers that are stuck together....
;)
Only one complaint on the fall apart, the rest were compliments.

We use the can glue and the applicator bottle that comes with it, I think someone here said to store it in the cooler to keep it longer?

My co worker tried the snap on wristlet and said it curled up under her wrist and was uncomfortable so we didn't get them.

When I'm making the wire armatures or using a stretchy bracelet for the wristlet, I cut small pieces of felt for the base. I glue them together on either side, not touching the bracelet and can be cut off later. For the wire armature ones, I glue to the wire, I also add a ribbon in case they want to tie it on as well.

I think the snap on bracelets are the most comfortable of all of our choices, including the scrunchies. They are versatile, can use them easily for upper arm decor.

I'm using them for weddings this year.
I've gotten into the habit of asking how "large" of stature the grooms mom might be. I've delivered wristlettes to weddings where the velcro, beaded, etc wristlette just about didn't fit around a very heavy person's wrist. Now, with the automatic adjustable feature of the snap ons - no worries!! No asking uncomfortable questions!! Done deal!

Love them!!!!!

Thanks for this thread Dore. We got these in to try, but haven't used them yet. Lots of my concerns have been addressed. We use pay glue (pillows) like Dore does. We rarely have problems. Maybe 1 or 2 a year, really the flower falling apart and not a gluing issue.

I was hesitant to use hot melt glue on the rubbery/plastic clear piece. My initial thought was to use lomey glue b/c it's plastic looking. Would ribbon hold better with Lomey glue or Oasis adhesive? From that point I would use hot melt glue, much faster, far less expensive and less mess. I was also thinking to tie the bow using the holes for added security.

My other though was to ditch the sliding clear thing and glue any tie a #9 ribbon to the middle of the slap, then glue you're #3 ribbons and bow to that and continue glueing your greens, flower and filler to the bow and ribbon.

I haven't tried it, but I know that florists have been using these slaps for a few years now, long before oasis came out with theirs and the sliding clear piece.
